Connacht ran in four tries to secure a bonus-point 32-10 victory over South African Pro14 newcomers Southern Kings at the Sportsground in Galway.

Tom Farrell, Eoghan Masterson and Ultan Dillane went over in the first half, with Darragh Leader also scoring and Jack Carty kicking nine points.

Berton Klaasen and Luvuyo Pupuma were the try-scorers for the visitors.

Both sides had lost their opening matches, but new Connacht coach Kieran Keane has now overseen his first win.

Connacht had picked up a losing bonus point in going down 18-12 to Glasgow, with the Kings being hammered 57-10 by champions the Scarlets.

The Irish province now lie third in Conference A on six points, while the Kings are bottom of Conference B of the revamped competition without a point.

Kings winger Sbusiso Sithole received a yellow card for lifting recklessly in the 11th minute and centre Tom Farrell took advantage of his side's numerical advantage by diving over under the posts three minutes later.

Carty converted and added another three points, before Klaasen stretched to dot down in the corner after collecting a well flighted pass from scrum-half Godlen Masimla.

A clever dummy and offload by Kieran Marmion set up replacement Masterson to cross and then Dillane touched down two minutes into injury time, Carty adding the extras on both occasions to make it 24-5 at the interval.

A further penalty by fly-half Carty further extended the 2016 Pro12 champions' lead but soon after Finlay Bealham was yellow-carded for a dangerous tackle on Masixole Banda.

The former Super 14 outfit failed to capitalise however as Pupuma was adjudged to have been held up short of the line after consultation with the television match official.

Leader completed a slick move by scoring Connacht's fourth try in the 70th minute, Steve Crosbie providing the decisive scooped pass.

Replacement Pupuma rumbled over to reduce his side's deficit two minutes from time after John Muldoon had been sent to the bin for a shoulder charge on opposite number Andisa Nstila.
