Junior Rasolea scored twice in the first half as Edinburgh ran in five tries in a comfortable European Challenge Cup win at London Irish.
Damien Hoyland stretched over for the game's first try and Rasolea raced clear to put the Scots 12-3 ahead.
Irish got their only score through Ollie Hoskins but Rasolea crossed out wide to keep Edinburgh well in charge.
The hosts had Conor Gilsenan sin-binned while tries from Jamie Ritchie and Luke Crosbie added gloss to the scoreline.
Pro14 side Edinburgh, managed by former Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill, conceded just three second-half points from the boot of Theo Brophy Clews.
The Scottish side top Pool Four after the first round of fixtures, with Russian club Krasny Yar pulling off a surprise 34-29 victory over holders Stade Francais in the other game in the group.
