Cardiff Blues forward Macauley Cook has agreed a new long-term contract at the Arms Park.

The 25-year-old has made 137 appearances since his debut for the Welsh capital region in 2010.

"Now I'm just excited about what the future holds, I feel like I have unfinished business here," said Cook.

Cook's new deal comes 24 hours after it was announced that Wales international scrum-half Lloyd Williams has also penned fresh terms.

Eight players have agreed senior contracts and while Cook admits moving elsewhere may have been an option, he always wanted to remain with the Blues.

"I love this region, they are the ones who gave me the opportunity and each week I play with my best mates," added Cook.
