Jackson Wray and Nathan Earle scored two tries each to help Saracens return to second in the Premiership with a bonus-point win over Worcester.

Wray and Earle crossed as Saracens took control in the second half after tries from Ben Spencer and Sean Maitland.

Worcester went in level at the break through Sam Lewis and Josh Adams' ninth Premiership try of the season.

And they left with a bonus point after David Denton's second-half score and Jamie Shillcock's last-second try.

It gave Worcester another valuable point in their battle for survival in director of rugby Alan Solomons' first game in sole charge and was reward for some enterprising rugby.

Adams, the Premiership's leading try scorer this season, crossed yet again after collecting a grubber kick from Chris Pennell, who had another good day with the boot, landing all four conversions and a penalty.

Saracens, who made five changes from last week's win at Leicester, converted two five-metre line-outs to take a comfortable lead.

Earle then crossed twice inside three minutes late on, in between the scores from Denton and Shillcock, to add gloss to a fine Christmas period for the European champions.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall:

"Overall we're disappointed with how we played. I thought it was a very patchy performance but there was a period in the second half when we played outstandingly well.

"There were brilliant passages, some proper rugby - but there were too many passages where it wasn't like that.

"It needed to go up across the squad and in fairness it did for 25 to 30 minutes of that second half and it encapsulates our season to a degree."

Worcester director of rugby Alan Solomons:

"Josh Adams is an extremely dangerous broken-field runner - he's very dangerous. He's grown in confidence, that I can see.

"When I first came, people said he would hesitate before going for the line. At the moment he knows where the line is, for sure.

"Wales tend to produce those players, those backs. It must be their genetics."
