Ospreys secured a second win in three Pro14 matches this season with victory over Glasgow at the Liberty Stadium.

Tries from scrum-half Reuben Morgan-Williams and centre Kieran Williams, plus 13 points from Stephen Myler secured the win.

Glasgow recorded tries from full-back Huw Jones and hooker George Turner but left Swansea without a losing bonus point.

Wales lock Adam Beard was named man-of-the-match despite a late yellow card.

Ospreys hooker Scott Otten, who had been due to start on the bench, had been withdrawn from the game after being in close contact with a person who had tested positive for Covid-19.

A Glasgow player has tested positive for coronavirus this week, while two others were also self-isolating, with the club cancelling training on Tuesday as a precaution.

Ospreys captain Dan Lydiate on the charge against Glasgow

Glasgow pair Hamish Bain and TJ Ioane made their debuts in a side showing nine changes, but head coach Danny Wilson was still able to select a matchday 23 containing 16 internationals.

Wales centre Scott Williams made his first Ospreys competitive start for nine months, while back-rower James King was back in the Pro14 for the first time in 13 months after recovering from a shoulder problem.

Wales flanker Dan Lydiate captained the side with Justin Tipuric away with Wales, while Ospreys were also missing Alun Wyn Jones, Rhys Webb, Nicky Smith, Sam Parry and Owen Watkin on international duty.

Forwards in control

Glasgow opened the scoring in the fourth minute through full-back Huw Jones, following an incisive break from centre Nick Grigg. Peter Horne missed the conversion.

Ospreys struck back through a penalty after Mat Protheroe latched onto a chip kick from Myler who slotted over the three points.

Glasgow forwards took control with hooker George Turner being drive over and Horne converted.

Ospreys had chances to reduce the deficit but surrendered possession on crucial occasions, before silky scrum-half Reuben Morgan-Williams sniped over for the try which Myler converted to reduce the half-time deficit to 12-10.

Myler handed the hosts the lead for the first time with an early second-half penalty, before Horne restored the advantage after outstanding hooker Dewi Lake had been penalised.

Ospreys centre Kieran Williams dived over in the left-hand corner after being released by Morgan-Williams, with Myler adding the touchline conversion before slotting over a penalty.

Glasgow were denied a late try by dogged defence but Beard was yellow-carded for a late offside offence.
