Cardiff have signed prop Josh Reynolds on loan from rival Welsh region Dragons.

The loose-head, now 24, made his debut for the Gwent region in 2017 aged just 19.

Reynolds signed a new contract ahead of this season and joins centre Max Clark in making the loan switch to the capital.

"We are delighted to add Josh Reynolds to our ranks," Cardiff head coach Matt Sherratt said.

"It is now a position of real strength with our two internationals Corey Domachowski and Rhys Carre alongside an exciting prospect in Rhys Barratt.

"Josh is in a similar mould to Rhys and Corey as he will be able to give us impact with ball in hand and in defence.

"Together with the signings of Max Clark and Matthew Aubrey last week, we've been able to strengthen the squad within our budgets to allow us to compete to the best of our ability in the URC (United Rugby Championship) and European Cup this season.

"We are also grateful to the (Dragons head coach) Dai Flanagan and the Dragons, who have prioritised Josh and Max's continued development and opportunity to get game-time."

Cardiff have also announced that Josh Turnbull will continue as club captain for the 2023/24 season, although his role as captain will be filled by Liam Belcher, Ellis Jenkins and Tomos Williams while the back-five forward is out injured.
