Saracens have re-signed Wales loose-head prop Rhys Carre from Cardiff on a deal starting next season.

The 26-year-old previously played for Saracens in 2019-20, moving back to Cardiff after one season.

Carre has 20 Wales caps but missed out on World Cup selection and is not currently in their Six Nations squad.

"We are pleased to welcome Rhys back to the club and at 26 he is a player with his best days ahead of him," Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said.

"We witnessed his enormous talent first hand during his first spell at the club and he returns with more experience and the opportunity to fulfil his undoubted potential."

Carre, who has scored 16 tries in 88 appearances for Cardiff across two spells at the club, had made regular appearances for Saracens in the Premiership in his first spell with the club and featured in the Champions Cup.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to pick up where I left off four years ago and to be a part of a squad with big expectations going forward," Carre said.
