Cornish Pirates have agreed new deals with scrum-half Will Rigelsford and prop Ben Woodmansey.

Rigelsford played eight times for the Pirates last season and scored for the Royal Navy in their win against the Army at Twickenham in May.

"I'm delighted to be a part of this great club," Rigelsford said.

"The support, the coaching and the culture around the club makes it a brilliant place to be."

Meanwhile, young prop Woodmansey has signed for Pirates after impressing for the club in the Championship last season.

The Cornish 18-year-old made his debut in a friendly against the Navy before going on to make five appearances in the second tier.

"For such a young man in the front row to have been able to play in the Champ is such an enormous achievement," Pirates joint-head coach Alan Paver told the club website., external

"It's great that he's local and a Cornish man – he has huge potential to grow. We'll nurture his development and make sure he gets the right exposure."
