In-demand England lock George Martin has been offered a new deal to stay with Leicester Tigers, head coach Geoff Parling has said.
Despite the 24-year-old being out injured for nine months, he is reportedly wanted by Tigers' Prem rivals Saracens and Sale Sharks., external
The second row has not played since being forced off the pitch in the Six Nations victory against France in February, with a combination of knee and shoulder injuries keeping him out.
Martin, who last featured for Leicester in January, is not expected to be available again until late January after he was ruled out for the "first half" of the Prem campaign.
Still, the England lock - who has earned 21 caps since making his international debut in 2021 – remains a prized figure at Tigers and is seen as a coveted signature by rivals.
When Parling was asked by BBC Radio Leicester about the speculation about Martin's future, the Tigers boss said: "We have discussed with George and his relevant parties and it up to Geroge to make decision now.
"He is quality player when he is fit, and that's where it is at the moment."
