WXV: Title permutations, fixtures and BBC coverage
- Published
England and Scotland will compete for titles in the final round of the 2024 WXV season - and you can watch their games live on the BBC's digital platforms.
Defending champions England will face hosts Canada for the WXV1 title in Vancouver on Saturday (03:00 BST on Sunday).
The Red Roses underlined their status as title favourites with a 61-21 win against the United States and followed that up with an eye-catching 49-31 victory over New Zealand in their second match.
Pacific Four Series winners Canada overpowered France 46-24 in their opener before overcoming Ireland 21-8.
Ireland, who started their campaign with a stunning 29-27 triumph against New Zealand, could finish as runners-up in their first WXV1 campaign.
They need to beat the United States in their final match on Friday and then wait and see if Canada or France overtake their points total on Saturday.
France take on winless world champions New Zealand before England face Canada.
Scotland need to beat WXV2 leaders Australia in Cape Town on Saturday afternoon to successfully defend their title.
The Scots recorded a comfortable 19-0 win over Italy in their opener before edging past Japan 19-13 in their second game.
If Scotland and Australia finish with the same points totals, Scotland would be the champions by virtue of winning the head-to-head match against the Wallaroos.
Wales failed to win any matches in WXV1 last year and have also yet to win in WXV2 this season. After being soundly beaten 37-5 by Australia and losing 8-5 to Italy, they face fellow strugglers Japan on Friday.

How does WXV work?
The three-tier tournament was created to offer consistent annual international fixtures outside of World Cup years.
Each WXV tier consists of six countries who have qualified via continental tournaments and play-offs:
WXV1 in Canada features the three sides from the 2024 Women's Six Nations - England, France and Ireland - plus the top three from the Pacific Four Series - Canada, New Zealand and the United States.
WXV2 in South Africa contains the remaining Six Nations sides - Scotland, Wales and Italy - as well as South Africa, Australia and Japan.
WXV3 in Dubai is made up of Spain, Madagascar, Fiji, Hong Kong, Netherlands and Samoa.
With each tier split into two pools, teams play the three sides in the other pool, with final placings determined by a points table.
Four points are awarded for a win and two for a draw, with the potential to pick up bonus points for scoring four tries or losing by seven points or fewer.
World Cup qualification at stake
This year's WXV also decides the final qualifying spots for next year's Rugby World Cup in England, with six spots going to the highest finishing teams.
New Zealand, England, Ireland, Canada, France, South Africa, United States, Japan, Fiji and Brazil have already booked their World Cup places.
