Back-rower Bethan Lewis says she is "super excited" to see what new head coach Sean Lynn can do for Wales.

Lynn brought down the curtain on his six year Gloucester-Hartpury reign by winning a third successive Premiership Women's Rugby title on Sunday.

But the Champagne remains on ice as he and the rest of his Welsh contingent were straight into camp on Monday to prepare for the Women's Six Nations.

Wales travel to Edinburgh to take on Scotland on Saturday.

Lynn has set out to galvanise a squad which suffered on and off the pitch in 2024 amid a bitter player contract dispute for which the Welsh Rugby Union apologised.

Lewis, who played under Lynn at Gloucester-Hartpury, said there is already a shift in culture.

"I think we're going to thrive with someone like Lynny," she said.

"He's big on family, he's big on connections.

"We really do play for each other there [at Gloucester-Hartpury]. I know it's a cliché and people say it, but we genuinely do.

"He really wants to be here, he wants this job and that's refreshing from the players perspective to have someone that wants to be here and cares for us.

"I'm super excited to see what he can do with us."

Lewis made her international debut against Scotland in 2018 and is looking forward to renewing rivalries this weekend.

"Scotland is always a great battle, we're quite similar in the way we play which is probably why it's such a battle," Lewis said.

"It is a quick turnaround, but rugby is a simple game that's sometimes made complicated.

"It's going to be a tough week to digest everything, but hopefully we can hit the ground running."

Scotland snatched a 20-18 win in Cardiff in last year's championship, a loss which Lewis said was "a tough one to take".

"There was a lot of stuff we were going through as a group, hopefully now we can enjoy rugby, enjoy being on the field and really push on from our performances," she added.

"I think there's a lot within this group that people haven't seen, there are quality rugby players here and we haven't been able to show it. This year, and going forward, hopefully we can do that."
