Newcastle lock Hawkins signs new deal

Newcastle Falcons lock John Hawkins has signed a new one-year deal.
The 28-year-old joined the Premiership side from Jersey Reds in October 2023 and has made 32 appearances for the club.
Hawkins is the fourth player in as many days to sign a new deal with the Falcons, after Ollie Fletcher, Max Clark and Ollie Leatherbarrow.
"The club gave me a chance two seasons ago which I'll always be grateful for, and hopefully I can keep wearing the jersey and giving it my best," he told the club website., external
Meanwhile, fellow lock Finn Baker has also extended his stay at Kingston Park.
The 20-year-old, who has made two first team appearances, has signed a new two-year deal.
