British and Irish Lions coach Andy Farrell has selected a 38-man squad for the summer tour of Australia.
Here are the players included:
Full-backs
Hugo Keenan - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 28
Caps: 46
Lions: Debutant
Keenan regained his starting position as Ireland's full-back after prioritising the sevens game to represent his home nation at the Paris Olympics.
Under Farrell's management, Keenan had a run of 33 starts in 36 matches for Ireland.
Blair Kinghorn - Scotland
Club: Toulouse
Age: 28
Caps: 60
Lions: Debutant
Versatile back Kinghorn is the only France-based player to be picked.
Kinghorn joined Toulouse in December 2023 - winning the Top 14 and Champions Cup last year.
Wings
Elliot Daly - England
Club: Saracens
Age: 32
Caps: 73
Lions: 2017, 2021 and 2025
Saracens' utility back Daly brings a wealth of experience to the Lions on his third tour.
Daly gives Farrell the option of playing him on either wing, full-back or at outside centre, where he started the first Test against South Africa in 2021.
As well as being a utility player, Daly's long-range goal-kicking gives the Lions a kicking threat from distance, which was useful on the 2017 tour in New Zealand.
Tommy Freeman - England
Club: Northampton Saints
Age: 24
Caps: 20
Lions: Debutant
Dynamic wing Freeman made his debut for England against Australia in 2022 and at Northampton he has also continued to shine.
Saints' final game before the Lions' announcement was a Champions Cup semi-final against Leinster, in which Freeman's hat-trick helped secured a shock win.
Mack Hansen - Ireland
Club: Connacht
Age: 27
Caps: 28
Lions: Debutant
Australia-born Hansen will return to his native country to represent the Lions.
The 28-year-old was first called up to Farrell's Ireland side in 2022 and he enjoyed a thrilling first Six Nations to earn a nomination for World Rugby breakthrough player of the year.
James Lowe - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 32
Caps: 40
Lions: Debutant
Lowe is a constant threat in the green jersey, with his darting runs and powerful left boot.
Moving to Leinster in 2017, he made his Ireland debut in 2020 against Wales in the Autumn Nations Cup and has been an ever-present since.
Duhan van der Merwe - Scotland
Club: Edinburgh
Age: 29
Caps: 49
Lions: 2021 and 2025
It will be no surprise to hear that Van der Merwe scored five tries in seven appearances during the 2021 Lions tour, starting all three Tests.
He has mastered the art of scoring in the corner, and his acrobatic finishing has almost become a trademark, bagging seven tries in five meetings against England.
Centres

Garry Ringrose is one of 12 Leinster players in the Lions squad
Bundee Aki - Ireland
Club: Connacht
Age: 35
Caps: 65
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Aki, who was nominated for World Rugby player of the year in 2023, returns to Lions duty.
He will be hoping to build on his 2021 tour experience. Although he featured in six games, the centre only played in the final Test match against South Africa.
Huw Jones - Scotland
Club: Glasgow Warriors
Age: 31
Caps: 58
Lions: Debutant
First-time tourist Jones scored a hat-trick in Scotland's opening win of this year's Six Nations against Italy.
Although Jones has only featured in five games for Glasgow Warriors this season, with none since the Six Nations, he has managed to score four tries.
Garry Ringrose - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 30
Caps: 67
Lions: Debutant
Ringrose can breathe a sigh of relief after finally getting called up to the British and Irish Lions.
The Leinster centre has been in with a shout of selection for the past two tours, with team-mates Robbie Henshaw and Aki edging him in 2021.
Sione Tuipulotu - Scotland
Club: Glasgow Warriors
Age: 28
Caps: 30
Lions: Debutant
Tuipulotu was the in-form centre heading into the Six Nations but a pectoral injury meant he missed the entire campaign.
Still yet to play since January, Tuipulotu, who was born in Australia, is hopeful of a return before the end of the season.
Fly-halves
Finn Russell - Scotland
Club: Bath
Age: 32
Caps: 87
Lions: 2017, 2021 and 2025
Scotland's main creator Russell is packing his bags for another Lions tour after being part of the two previous trips.
Russell showed his class in the deciding third Test against South Africa four years ago and was co-captain alongside Rory Darge during Scotland's recent Six Nations campaign.
Fin Smith - England
Club: Northampton Saints
Age: 22
Caps: 11
Lions: Debutant
Smith guided Northampton to Premiership success last season, before breaking into England's team as the starting 10 earlier this term.
The 22-year-old, who had a standout performance for Saints against Leinster on Saturday, nailed a game-clinching kick against France in this year's Six Nations, which helped England win 26-25.
Marcus Smith - England
Club: Harlequins
Age: 26
Caps: 44
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Smith was called up for the 2021 Lions tour while playing a summer international for England against Canada.
His playing experience has increased over the past four years, and he has even been utilised as a full-back in an England shirt after losing his fly-half spot to his namesake Fin.

Both Fin Smith (pictured) and Marcus Smith kicked at goal for England in this year's Six Nations
Scrum-halves
Jamison Gibson-Park - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 33
Caps: 43
Lions: Debutant
Gibson-Park has been a figurehead of Ireland's attack in recent years, but will be a debutant tourist this summer.
Although he has a lack of Lions experience, the New Zealand native will be a strong frontrunner for the number nine shirt.
Alex Mitchell - England
Club: Northampton Saints
Age: 27
Caps: 23
Lions: Debutant
Mitchell missed England's November campaign because of a neck injury before regaining his spot during the Six Nations.
He scored the match-winning try against Bath in last year's Premiership final and is a sharp scrum-half, who is always a threat.
Tomos Williams - Wales
Club: Gloucester
Age: 30
Caps: 64
Lions: Debutant
Williams will be flying the Wales flag alongside Jac Morgan on the tour - they are the only two Wales players to be named.
The scrum-half for Gloucester in the Premiership this season has scored eight tries and made 23 line-breaks to earn his inclusion.

Back rows
Jack Conan - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 32
Caps: 51
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Conan was a surprise starter in all three Tests against South Africa in 2021 from number eight after being rewarded for his superb form on tour.
The 32-year-old has been used to great effect from Farrell for Ireland as an impact player off the bench, but given Caelan Doris' omission because of injury, a starting spot once again could be opening up.
Tom Curry - England
Club: Sale Sharks
Age: 26
Caps: 61
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Curry battled back from a career-threatening hip injury, which saw him only feature in one Premiership game last season, to regain England's number seven jersey.
The 26-year-old, who played in the 2019 Rugby World Cup defeat by South Africa, started all three Tests of the Lions' tour of South Africa in 2021.
Ben Earl - England
Club: Saracens
Age: 27
Caps: 42
Lions: Debutant
Earl was one of England's top performers at the 2023 World Cup from number eight, helping Steve Borthwick's side turn around their form to finish third.
The explosive ball-carrier, who featured three times at open-side flanker during this year's Six Nations, will hope his versatility can help earn a spot in a competitive Lions back row.
Jac Morgan - Wales
Club: Ospreys
Age: 25
Caps: 24
Lions: Debutant
The flanker was rewarded for his standout performances in this year's Six Nations as Wales captain, despite his nation being on a miserable run of 17 successive defeats.
The 25-year-old is a hard-hitter in defence and also a threat over the ball, with Morgan leading the stats for tackles made in this year's Six Nations.
Henry Pollock - England
Club: Northampton Saints
Age: 20
Caps: 1
Lions: Debutant
Pollock's inclusion resulted in the loudest cheer around London's Indigo O2, which shows how popular his selection was as the youngest tourist.
The flanker scored two tries on his England senior debut off the bench in the Six Nations against Wales in Cardiff, and has since been a star performer for Northampton to help Saints reach the Champions Cup final.
Josh van der Flier - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 32
Caps: 73
Lions: Debutant
Van der Flier hit his best form to be named world player of the year in 2022 after missing out on selection for the Lions in 2021.
The call-up will come as a relief for the open-side flanker, with the 32-year-old finally getting a Lions spot that his international career has deserved.

Second rows
Tadhg Beirne - Ireland
Club: Munster
Age: 33
Caps: 61
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Beirne, who plays at blind-side flanker or in the second row, came off the bench in the first and second Tests in South Africa.
The Munster captain has been one of Farrell's go-to starters for Ireland and he will hope to be trusted from the start in red.
Ollie Chessum - England
Club: Leicester Tigers
Age: 24
Caps: 28
Lions: Debutant
Chessum is also comfortable at blind-side flanker or at lock, with his line-out ability making him a regular under Borthwick.
The Premiership winner in 2023 recently won player of the match against Italy in this year's Six Nations.
Scott Cummings - Scotland
Club: Glasgow Warriors
Age: 28
Caps: 42
Lions: Debutant
Cummings, who scored in Glasgow's United Rugby Championship final against South African side Bulls last year, played every minute of Scotland's Six Nations campaign last year, but missed this year's campaign after breaking his thumb.
The specialist lock has played only once since January after returning to action at the end of April, with his most recent Scotland appearance coming in victory over Australia in November.
Maro Itoje - England (captain)
Club: Saracens
Age: 30
Caps: 93
Lions: 2017, 2021 and 2025
Since taking over as England captain at the start of this year, Itoje has returned to his best form that saw him feature in the past six Lions Tests.
In 2017, the England lock went to New Zealand as the youngest Lions player and he now leads the team on his third tour.
Joe McCarthy - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 24
Caps: 19
Lions: Debutant
The Ireland lock was pushed quickly into the Test arena, making his aggressive ball-carrying - at 6ft 6in and more than 19 stone - a point of difference after his international debut in 2022.
A player-of-the-match performance in his first Six Nations start against France last year in Marseille showed his athletic profile could match the best in the world.
James Ryan - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 28
Caps: 72
Lions: Debutant
Ryan was a notable omission from the 2021 Lions squad but has been trusted by Farrell, having started every game of Ireland's 2023 Grand Slam win.
An out-an-out lock, Ryan is known for his high workrate and leadership skills, captaining Leinster and Ireland in the past.
Maro Itoje named British & Irish Lions captain
Hookers
Luke Cowan-Dickie - England
Club: Sale Sharks
Age: 31
Caps: 49
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Cowan-Dickie featured in all three Tests four years ago and scored in the Lions' opening Test win over South Africa.
The 31-year-old put his injury troubles behind him and regained the starting hooker spot for England in this year's Six Nations.
Ronan Kelleher - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 27
Caps: 39
Lions: Debutant
Kelleher was called up to train with the Lions in 2021, while Jamie George and Luke Cowan-Dickie were unavailable because of club commitments, and he again linked up in South Africa as extra cover but never played.
He deputises for Sheehan at club and country, operating a vital one-two punch, which Farrell may opt to again lean on.
Dan Sheehan - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 26
Caps: 32
Lions: Debutant
Sheehan, who is the likely starting Lions hooker, incredibly returned in just six months after rupturing an anterior cruciate ligament to play for Ireland in this year's Six Nations.
Despite missing a large chunk of the season, the dynamic hooker has scored 12 tries this year, including a hat-trick against Italy.
Props

Pierre Schoeman's nickname is 'The Greatest Schoeman'
Zander Fagerson - Scotland
Club: Glasgow Warriors
Age: 29
Caps: 75
Lions: 2021 and 2025
Fagerson did not win a Test cap in South Africa on his first Lions tour but continues to be a vital part of Scotland's front row.
This was proven when the 29-year-old played the full 80 minutes against France and 76 minutes against England in this year's Six Nations.
Tadhg Furlong - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 32
Caps: 79
Lions: 2017, 2021 and 2025
Now a three-time tourist, Furlong has started the past six Lions Tests and brings a wealth of experience.
However, the prop has started only five games in an injury-hit season, but is trusted by Farrell to get back up to speed.
Ellis Genge - England
Club: Bristol Bears
Age: 30
Caps: 71
Lions: Debutant
England's vice-captain has started every game for his country this year, becoming integral to Borthwick's pack.
Genge is most dangerous in the loose but has also developed into an assured scrummager.
Andrew Porter - Ireland
Club: Leinster
Age: 29
Caps: 75
Lions: 2021 (replaced before tour because of injury) and 2025
Porter missed out on featuring four years ago when a toe injury, only a week before the squad was due to meet up, ended his Lions dream.
Integral to Ireland's recent success under Farrell, Porter will be eyeing a starting spot in Australia.
Pierre Schoeman - Scotland
Club: Edinburgh
Age: 31
Caps: 42
Lions: Debutant
South Africa-born Schoeman is an aggressive and abrasive ball-carrier who has established himself as a starter for Scotland since making his debut in 2021 through the residency rule.
A fan favourite, every carry for Edinburgh and Scotland tends to be met with a chant of "Schoooo".
Will Stuart - England
Club: Bath
Age: 28
Caps: 50
Lions: Debutant
Stuart's form has helped Bath to the top of the Premiership and to a Challenge Cup final, with the tighthead nailing down a starting spot with England this year.
The 28-year-old has had to be patient at international level behind Dan Cole and Kyle Sinckler, but is now shining, scoring in Cardiff against Wales to mark his 50th cap.
