New Zealand flanker Jorja Miller will miss the game in Bristol through injury.

The 21-year-old, who converted from Sevens to earn selection for the Black Ferns' title defence, has scored four tries in four appearances so far in the tournament, impressing with her all-court style.

She went off early in the second half against South Africa in Exeter after playing with an apparent leg complaint.

Kennedy Tukuafu, who co-captained the team that won the World Cup on home soil three years ago, replaces Miller in one of four changes to the starting line-up.

Not a bad replacement, but Miller will be missed as she is a special game-breaking athlete.

New Zealand: Holmes; Sorensen-McGee, Waaka, Brunt, Woodman-Wickliffe; Demant, Pouri-Lane; Viliko, Ponsonby, Kalounivale, Roos, A Bremner, Mikaele-Tu'u, Tukuakfu, Olsen-Baker.

Replacements: Lolohea, Henwood, Rule, C Bremner, Sae, Joseph, Setefano, Leti-I'iga.

Shania Twain has just been put on by the stadium DJ - 'Man I feel like a woman' for the connoiseurs.

The Canadian pop powerhouse has posted a good luck message to her team on social media.

Now, does the DJ have a slab of Crowded House in his box to even up the score?

Canada are very good. They've been in and around the top four for a long time now. Half of the squad that won silver at Paris 2024 are in the squad tonight. There's an element of pace and flair.

Canadian singer Shania Twain is in Bristol.

Her message on social media was "let's go girls!"

A very short message that cause chaos.

"I freaked out, obviously," Canada full-back Julia Schell said.

"Me and another team-mate, who is not on tour with us right now, are very big Shania Twain fans. So, after training, I saw a message from my friend saying to go and check Instagram.

"I literally sprinted from the bus into the changing rooms, and I’ve never fallen over so hard. I was wearing these silly little slippers, and I absolutely ate the floor. That probably sums up how I was feeling about it."

Having some sporting offspring is one heck of a way to travel.

Sonia Hooper's daughter, Alysha Corrigan, starts on the wing for Canada tonight, opposite Portia Woodman-Wickliffe.

Sonia and her partner Ben were here in Bristol, were in Paris for the Olympics last summer (silver medal) and in New Zealand for the last Rugby World Cup three years ago (semi-final exit).

What do you mean you don't recognise the Candian flag? That is the banner of Prince Edward Island, the province Alysha grew up in. She is its sole representative in the squad.

I just Googled it. It looks lovely.

Canada produced a dominant display to defeat Australia in Bristol, scoring five first-half tries to put the result of their quarter-final beyond doubt.

Alysha Corrigan scored two of their seven tries in the match as the team ranked second in the world booked their place in the last four.

Beaten by England in their only World Cup final appearance to date in 2014, Canada will have high hopes of matching - and perhaps surpassing - that achievement.

Rachel and Andy catch me by surprise. I presume they must be Kiwis. I am about 8,000 miles out.

They have flown over from Chicago to watch both semi-finals and next weekend's final, having first stumbled across Sevens on YouTube.

"I had heard of the All Blacks, but I couldn't believe these women, they were unbelievable," remembers Rachel.

They are Portia Woodman-Wickliffe ultras. But then aren't we all?

They have multiple threats, we have just as many, but for me I want to take those options away from them. I love it when, particularly in a line-out or a maul, you can really get stuck into them and you can see it in their eyes when you start taking their options away.

England head coach John Mitchell, speaking to BBC's Rugby Union Weekly podcast: "The pressure comes from you guys [the media] because you guys are always talking about how big it is.

"It's a big tournament but we need not make it any bigger than it already is. So we just stay on process, narrow our focus, understand that our game is working and ensure that we have fun. That is all we can control."

On the return of star full-back Ellie Kildunne from concussion for the semi-final: "I think it would be unreasonable not to select her. She is gifted and can break a game. When she is focused and when she’s present, she is unbelievable."

England v France (Sat, 15:30 BST)

Before we get into previewing this game, let's have a look at how England are shaping up against France in the other semi-final.

Some fresh news is that France wing Joanna Grisez, who was due to start the game, has been ruled out through injury.

Kelly Arbey now starts and Emilie Boulard comes onto the bench.

Grisez scored a stunning try against the Red Roses in April and the decisive score against Ireland in the quarter-finals, but Arbey also scored a cracker against England and is a big threat.

It is Women's Rugby World Cup semi-final time. First up in Bristol is world champions New Zealand against Canada, who are the second ranked team in the world.

Never write off the six-time winners, but the Black Ferns struggled in the first half of their quarter-final against South Africa.

Meanwhile, Canada hammered Australia and have looked a class above their opponents this tournament.
