They should be really proud. They've really challenged Canada for the majority of that game. Helen Nelson was outstanding. Her physicality in the contact was outstanding.

"We knew coming into the tournament that we wanted to make it out of Pool play. Hopefully a good week of prep for some exciting knockouts."

A superb passage of play there. McGhie is just an excellent finisher and so strong. Caity Mattinson - wonderful pass too.

  8. converted try

    Fran McGhie

    Scotland have thoroughly deserved that.

Scrum-half Caity Mattinson darts out of the back of a ruck, commits a defender and releases Fran McGhie.

Scotland's electric winger rushes around Alexandra Tessier to score the Scots' third try of the match.

The conversion is good, but with five minutes left, it's likely too little, too late.

You talk about momentum changes in games. The fact that that try was disallowed, the fact that Canada went up so quickly and scored and converted, the fact that it's now 33 to 12, you just feel that this is just a little bit too far out of Scotland's reach now.

  13. converted try

    Brittany Kassil

A huge leg drive results in Canada's fifth try as Brittany Kassil powers over.
