  4. 'Australia not getting sucked in'published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time

    Peter Wright
    Former Scotland prop on Sportsound

We've got to give Australia's defence a bit of credit. They're not getting sucked in, they're keeping their width well.

Scotland have had chances but they're taking the wrong option. Blair Kinghorn has run 75m but created nothing. You'd expect him to create or score a try with those numbers.

They've got to tighten things up and become more efficient.

Finn Russell has taken a couple of heavy hits. It was noticeable the Scotland fly-half was shifting the ball a bit quicker the longer the first half went on.

  6. 'Defences winning out'published at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time

    Colin Gregor
Former Glasgow Warriors back on Sportsound

Both teams will think 'if we don't make it a nightmare for the opposition at the breakdown, they will get quick ball and we will be up against it'.

Both teams are doing that, and as a result neither team has gotten into their attacking stride. The ball is being slowed down by a half-second which allows defences to get set.

    The defences are winning out.

Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii enjoyed a fantastic debut against England, but his second Australia start will not provide such great memories.

His wrist is strapped up after that ferocious collision with Sione Tuipulotu and we won't be seeing him again.

  8. 'A bit of a battle'published at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time

    HT: Scotland 7-3 Australia

    Tom English
BBC Scotland's chief sports writer on Sportsound

The Aussies, for 18 minutes, dominated. They had a couple of opportunities around Scotland's 5m line and didn't take any of them. Got out with only three points.

Scotland will be disappointed they only got seven points after that. They missed an easy three from in front of the posts. They made a few errors near the line.

It's a bit of a battle, not the free-flowing game we thought it would be.

  9. Half-time Scotland 7-3 Australiapublished at 40 mins

A rather underwhelming half comes to an end with just one try scored.

It was a great moment for the Scotland captain though, Sione Tuipulotu crashing through to score. With his granny watching on too!

A second line-out steal from Grant Gilchrist and Scotland are away. Blair Kinghorn stays on his feet with several Aussies hanging on, then looks perplexed as the ref blows in favour of the visitors.

It's been a cracking contest so far, both teams want to play.

The game is right on a knife edge.

  15. Postpublished at 33 mins

  16. 'Very rugby league'published at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time

    Scotland 7-3 Australia

    Peter Wright
    Former Scotland prop on Sportsound

It was a rugby league tackle. I've been watching him in a few of the breakdowns, he was starting to lose the plot.

A few tackles were very rugby league.

Ouch! Welcome to top level rugby union Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii as he collides with Sione Tuipulotu.

It looks like he might have damaged his hand or wrist. It might even be a head knock.

Either way, he's walking off the pitch and not looking too happy.

Any team worth their salt would never concede a try like that. It's the simplest try in the world.

A simple throw, heid down, plenty chop.

    Those were end-of-season tackles.
