    HT: Samoa 0-22 Scotland

    Andrew Petrie
    BBC Sport Scotland

A really good attacking showing from Scotland there. Jamie Dobie and Fergus Burke have shone as a duo in the half-backs, and it's good to see what Rory Hutchinson can do in the Test arena.

Defensively, it's been a little more passive than it was last week - although it was always going to be hard to match the defensive effort put in against Fiji, that Scotland eventually paid the price for.

There was also a really dodgy restart in there.

But the set-piece has generally been far more sound, and the backline has really clicked. Plenty of positives.

It's the Jamie Dobie show at present.

He makes things happen again for Scotland with a dart down the blindside to release Fergus Burke.

Samoa halt the attack on this occasion, but it doesn't detract from Dobie's influence on this contest.

So many good elements, simple elements, to that score from Scotland that will please the coaching staff and players.

It was built off the back of good game management. They made Samoa defend and under fatigue, they executed a good first-phase move.

That's one of the longest pass assists you'll see - brilliant from Jamie Dobie.

Samoa have to rush up off the line, and Scotland have the numerical advantage. That extra player was all the way out on the wing, but Dobie sees that and executes it perfectly.

Scotland didn't have a lot of possession last week other than the first two or three minutes.

It meant they had to defend and defend against big, powerful opposition. That tolled later on in the game.

Scotland are winning the possession stakes right now and that's really important.

    Samoa 0-12 Scotland

A superb Scotland break and superb Samoa defence.

Fergus Burke shows good hands to release Arron Reed down the left wing and the Sale man passes back inside to Burke.

He steps off his right foot and tries to get to the corner, but is tackled into touch by Jacob Umaga.

Tuna Tuitama breaks from inside his own 22 after a clever Samoa intercept.

The wing makes his way into Scotland's 22 before Fergus Burke does enough to haul him down and get the ball into touch.

A searing break, but it's not great from Scotland to give possession away initially.

Scotland should really be away again, but Kyle Rowe inexplicably passes inside when he had two teammates in acres of space outside him.

    Poor from the Scotland full-back.

There are some big hits going in, perhaps unsurprisingly.

Debutant Latrell Ah Kiong makes a break, but is clattered by Kyle Rowe and halted in his tracks.

It's a brilliant score in the end. Scotland kept knocking at the door. Some of the defence from Samoa was absolutely heroic.

They just changed the picture to put it though, with Stafford McDowall at the heart of it. He didn't take it close to the line, drew the defence onto them.

It's really clever and astute play.
