Brazil head coach Emiliano Caffera: "I'm very proud. I feel like the first half shook us. But in the second half we started doing some things. We made a try and I'm very proud of the girls.
"I hope it's going to be a point of growth for rugby in Brazil, especially for 15s. All of our players are from sevens, so 15s is growing and it's growing a lot in Brazil.
"We came here to play three games, three tough games. We know all the teams we are going to play are really tough. We have to play again on Sunday doing our thing. Hopefully another try and keeping more of the ball."
French head coach Gaëlle Mignot, speaking to World Rugby: "I think this match was an opportunity to set our pace, put us in a place and gain skill from it. The girls are happy.
"The next match is key, we know it will be hard and we will concentrate 100% because we want to be first in our group.

France player of the match Pauline Bourdon Sansus: "Baby Arthur gave me a lot of strength, I became a mum a month and a half ago, he gave me a lot of strength. I'm very happy to be back to help the team.
"I didn't feel any pressure. I just wanted to come back and show what I can do. I was suspended for two matches and couldn't wait to come back. I have fire in my legs.
"South Africa is next. Our goal is to concentrate and get ready for the next match. We have the team, we just need to concentrate."
Unbelievable noise inside Sandy Park! Brazil have their first ever try at a Rugby World Cup!
It all comes from Brazil intercepting a France line-out in their own zone and the ball is shipped out to Bianca Silva, on her own 22, who sells three France players with a brilliant dummy and then runs it home from way out.
