I can't help feeling if this was a New Zealand team there'd be 70-80 points on the scoreboard.
Japan 3-45 England
You can tell all the replacements want to play a big role in New Zealand. Plenty of energy - especially from Harry Randall.

Great to see Tom Curry back. Steve Borthwick was on the Rugby Union Daily podcast a few weeks ago and told us how much testing Tom's been through.
He's such an important player and they were very happy with where he's at. It's not a decision that's been taken lightly.

George Martin has been impressive all day with some monster tackles and in that Harry Randall try he's gone through three hard carries in 60 seconds. He's a real force to be reckoned with.

A quick snipe and the replacement scrum-half scores. Anything Alex Mitchell can do...

Don't show Coley that....

I'm not having a prop is going to stop a back. There's no debate. The Japan player was two metres out. How the referee thinks Dan Cole is going to stop him from scoring I don't know.
Japan 3-38 England
After all that hard work, the ball is dropped from the line-out. Incredible defence from England even with the score.
They also win the penalty from the resulting scrum and clear their lines.

The Brave Blossoms look almost certain to score as Jone Naikabula bursts clear.
His offload does go to hand, but Marcus Smith makes an early tackle so is sent to the sin-bin.

Alex Mitchell the creator again going back down the short side. He's no real right but he backs himself to find the offload in the tackle and has the strength to get the ball to Ben Earl.
Ben Earl
Alex Mitchell goes off on another one of his runs from the base of the ruck and produces a brilliant offload to send Ben Earl over in the corner.
Japan 3-33 England
England are held up over the line. There will be no kicking for posts as they come back for a penalty.
Japan 3-33 England
Joe Marler is on for Bevan Rodd. Theo Dan is also on for captain Jamie George.

That was so good from Mitchell. Everyone thinks he's going one way and then he goes in a completely different direction.
The way he can slink through a gap is impressive. That's what he does so well in the Premiership. He's such a threat and is getting better at this level as he feels more and more comfortable.
Alex Mitchell (con Marcus Smith)
Another one...
Vintage Alex Mitchell as the scrum-half finds a gap at the ruck and sprints over.
Japan 3-26 England
Immanuel Feyi-Waboso breaks free but can't link with Alex Mitchell. Feyi-Waboso had no right to get through.
