    Scotland v Fiji (14:45)

Scotland know what they need to do. A win, and they make it to the quarter-finals.

They were out at the pool stage in 2021, and failed to qualify for 2018 and 2014. Getting out of the groups represents a huge leap forward.

And all this with the back drop of a soon-to-be departed head coach and players' futures still up in the air.

Rachel Malcolm called it an "unfair" situation, but the adversity seems to have united the Scottish squad.

    FT: Canada 42-0 Wales

Perhaps the expected scoreline from Salford as Canada overwhelm Wales and all but dump Sean Lynn's side out of the World Cup.

After a heavy loss to Scotland in opening match, Wales are staring at a group-stage exit.

That will come later on today if Scotland get any match points from their game against Fiji.

Canada showed their credentials as challengers for the World Cup trophy as they demonstrate why they are ranked as the second best side in the world.

Not just beaten, but nilled as well. It's a bruising day for Wales fans.

  3. What happened between Scotland and Wales?published at 14:14 British Summer Time 30 August

Scotland cast aside their off-field issues to condemn Wales to a record six-try defeat in their World Cup opener.

Scotland's preparations had been beset by player contract uncertainty, but they were united in a dominant performance in front of 10,054 fans in Salford - a record for a game between the nations.

Francesca McGhie celebrated a hat-trick as Wales were outclassed in almost every facet, with Leia Brebner-Holden, Evie Gallagher and Emma Orr also crossing for the host team.

Alex Callender's try had kept Wales in touch in the first half, but after that it was all about the team in blue as they recorded a record 30-point winning margin against their fellow Celts.

  4. Skeldon rested as Martin makes third startpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 30 August

    Scotland v Fiji (14:45)

There's only one change to the starting XV that put Wales to the sword in the opening pool match last weekend.

Lana Skeldon - who made a miraculous recovery from an ankle injury to start the first game - is rested and replaced by normal back-up, Elis Martin.

On the bench, Molly Wright shifts to replacement hooker and allows Anne Young to come in as loosehead sub, potentially making her World Cup debut.

Jade Konkel is another who is rested, with Adelle Ferrie among the subs.
