  2. 'Wasn't a great performance' - Sherrattpublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Cardiff 7-24 Edinburgh

Cardiff head coach Matt Sherratt also spoke to Premier Sports after the game:

"If I'm honest it wasn't a great performance. We made almost double the tackles they had. Although we were in the game, it takes a lot out of you physically.

"We thought our bench could've been a turning point for us because we did have some power coming on but it was the first half that hurt us.

"The second half, the amount of tackles we made and the amount of pressure we put ourselves under that tells at the end of game."

  3. 'An important win' - Everittpublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 27 April

    FT: Cardiff 7-24 Edinburgh

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt spoke to Premier Sports:

"We set a challenge for the last five games, it's a shame not to come away with the bonus point but it's an important win away from home. I'm happy we were able to pull through at the end against a relentless and resilient Cardiff.

"Hats off to them, they've had a good season, I know their results haven't gone their way. I thought Edinburgh did really well to come back, we were under the pump from the first five minutes but we pulled it through.

"I think we did well to keep Cardiff out in the first half. To keep them scoreless at half time was a good effort from our boys. I thought Cardiff defended well and you could see the emotion they put into their performance.

"I'm happy with the patience our boys put into the performance today."

Edinburgh captain Grant Gilchrist spoke to Premier Sports on the whistle:

"It's huge for us, we know we need to win every game until the end of the season so we're embracing that pressure, coming to play at places like this where there's a sellout crowd.

"They're a good side Cardiff, I know their position on the table doesn't reflect that. We knew the size of the challenge to come down here, as much as I would've loved five points, it's still a huge result for us.

"They weren't just going to give us the win, we had to grind them down. They're a tough team who went hard and we had to go through the process of wind them down and get a couple of scores."

Player of the match Jamie Ritchie told Premier Sports:

"It was tough, we knew they would be playing with a lot of emotions and we'd have to weather that storm. I am really proud of how we weathered that and the tide turned when we were more clinical in other areas than they were.

"To give ourselves a bit more than one score as a buffer freed us up to go again and try and get the score but a knock on at the end stopped that."
