What a start to the season with a fantastic match.

It may not have been the highest quality but it was a genuine Welsh derby scrap.

Ospreys will be scratching their heads at just how they have managed to throw this away.

They led 21-13 early in the second half after tries by Keiran Williams and Ryan Conbeer.

But they just could not shrug off Dragons who had to dig deep when down to 14 men.

Chances came and went for the hosts but they kept their composure at the crucial moment and replacement prop Luke Yendle proved the unlikely winner with the Dragons' second try.

It's a great start for Dragons who head to Leinster next week while Ospreys welcome Stormers to Bridgend.

So for now, goodbye from a sunny and very happy Rodney Parade.

Dragons weren't in the game in the second half until the final eight or nine minutes and they took their opportunity.

Ospreys rolled the bench and lost a bit of their momentum but fair play to Dragons, they've deserved it for winning the last seven minutes.

Ospreys coaching team will be disappointed but Dai Flanagan and the rest of the Dragons coaching will be chuffed they've got their first win at home before they head to Leinster next week.

Ospreys' players are trudging off bemused and now the Dragons fans are giving the same 'talking' hand gesture back to Dewi Lake that he dished out a few moments ago as he left the field.

Oh the home fans are loving this.

'Stand up for the men of Gwent' is ringing around Rodney Parade.

Ospreys are wondering what on earth has just happened!

I think we're all wondering what has just happened!

Remarkable scenes here at Rodney Parade where Dragons have snatched a dramatic win.

There was a painful wait as the referee checked with the TMO over a potential infringement in the build up to that last try... and then another huge roar when Evans was allowed to take the conversion to win it.

    And they're over!

    Oh what drama!

Almost every player was iin the shadow of the posts, Dragons had to make sure they were not held up over the line or they would lose the ball but the replacement prop drives over from a yard out.

    What a finish.

Dragons scrum-half Rhodri Williams almost gets clear.

Rio Dyer has a go but is stopped three metres short.

Oh this is a dramatic climax.

Oh no... Lloyd Evans has missed touch again!

But Ospreys have to run it out of defence so this game is still not over.

James Benjamin is back on the pitch and that means Harrison Keddie can also return as he made way for Brodie Coughlan.

The Dragons pack is back to full strength and immediately wins a penalty at a scrum.

They can kick this deep into Ospreys territory.

Steff Hughes had already ran the (kicking) tee onto the pitch there, taking the decision out of Dragons players' hands.

They'll take the losing bonus point now, or even go the length and score.

Ospreys are offside and this time Dragons take the three points from in front of the posts.

Even the crowd was calling for them to kick... they know they need the score to take a point.

    Argh!

Dragons turned down a kick at goal to earn at least a bonus point and they went for the corner.

But Brodie Coghlan - who is back on because of Benjamin's yellow card - overthrows the lineout and the chance disappears.

    So frustrating.

Dragons finally get into the Ospreys half. George Nott and Shane Lewis-Hughes exchange passes to make ground.

Angus O'Brien then puts in a cross-field kick but Rio Dyer just fails to gather beyond the try line.

To be fair it was a tricky bounce but Dragons needed that.

It's scrappy from Ospreys, they had four or five players free on the edge there and it was a poor pass from the guy we've given a lot of praise to in Jack Walsh.

You can tell it's the first game of the season, everyone with a little bit of ring rust.

Dragons have had no territory at all in the second half and they've got seven minutes to try and get up the pitch and get a score.

Given how much Ospreys have dominated this second half, it's surprising that they're still only eight points ahead.

Dragons can still get themselves right back in this but they need to get up field - and fast.

Terrible decision from James Benjamin to go in the side of that maul and sent straight to the bin!

Then a brilliant kick from Jack Walsh into the corner and Ospreys have had a lot of success from the maul.
