    Toulon 32-35 Saracens

    Jacob Atkins
Former London Irish fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This is a great start from Toulon. This is nasty, horrible rugby to play with direct bruising. There is nothing you can do to stop rugby like this when it's going.

Try - Toulon 32-35 Saracenspublished at 45 mins

    Brian Alainu’uese

Saracens are being worn down, and the substitute crashes over from close range with help from Kyle Sinckler. Jaminet misses the conversion, but the impetus very much with the home side now.

  4. Postpublished at 44 mins

    Toulon 27-35 Saracens

That is a superb bouncing bomb of a kick from Leicester Fainga’anuku, all Alex Goode can do is run with it off the pitch by his own flag.

  5. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Toulon 27-35 Saracens

Toulon have the upper hand early on with Dave Ribbans bashing his way up the middle towards the post.

As the game pauses, Theo Dan goes to the floor - but it's only to change his boots. He must have burned through them.

  6. Kick-offpublished at 13:28 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 27-35 Saracens

I can't call how this will go, but we're off again as Toulon kick off.

  7. 'Toulon are starting to get competitive'published at 13:16 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 27-35 Saracens

    Jacob Atkins
Former London Irish fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It's exactly what I was hoping to see from Toulon.

That's a textbook score, it's exactly what I have seen from Toulon all year and it's great to see them starting to get competitive in this game.

  8. Half-timepublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 27-35 Saracens

Wow! I never saw that coming, what with Sarries 'weaker' team selection. But, has the momentum swung back to Toulon? Will their stronger bench be the difference?

  9. converted try

Converted try - Toulon 27-35 Saracenspublished at 40 mins

    Melvyn Jaminet (con: Jaminet)

Toulon suck in a few Sarries defenders, then spin it to the left and the full back has acres of space to dot down. He also goes handily close to the posts to slot a simpler conversion.

  10. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Toulon 20-35 Saracens

It feels like the momentum is with the hosts, even if they are 15 points behind! A bizarre match, to say the least.

  11. converted try

Converted try - Toulon 20-35 Saracenspublished at 35 mins

    Facundo Isa (Con: Jaminet)

The number eight collects close to the line, and he is assisted over by prop Jean-Baptiste Gros with a mighty shove.

  12. 'Toulon need to get to half-time now'published at 13:07 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 13-35 Saracens

    Jacob Atkins
Former London Irish fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This Toulon team just need to get to half-time now with minimal damage. They need the 15-minute break to reassess their decisions.

The Toulon bodies were all over the floor in the water break.

Try - Toulon 13-35 Saracenspublished at 32 mins

    Ivan van Zyl (con: Burke)

    Best try of the lot!

Theo Dan races for the line, but as he is tackled he twists and flips the ball back to the scrum-half, who has a simple run-in.

Hookers never, EVER did that a few years ago!

  14. Postpublished at 30 mins

    Toulon 13-28 Saracens

They opt to run rather than kick, there's a pile-up on the line but referee Nika Amashukeli says it has been held up.

It was a right mess of bodies, no way he could see what was going on down there.

  15. 'Toulon have to go back to basics'published at 13:01 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 13-28 Saracens

    Jacob Atkins
Former London Irish fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

It kills me to say it, Toulon have to go back to basics. They cannot go through their basics with letting the likes of Juan Martin Gonzalez affect them.

It feels like Toulon have just turned up, dropped their bags off and gone into training.

  16. Toulon 13-28 Saracenspublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 5 April

Theo Dann drives to five metres out, then he has a go again before they move to the left. Strong Toulon defence keeps them at arm's length but a penalty may be coming here.

Burke's chip goes dead, but the penalty goes their way.

  17. 'Toulon are scrambled at the minute'published at 12:59 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 13-28 Saracens

    Jacob Atkins
Former London Irish fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Let us not kid ourselves Saracens have left out their internationals because this is a really strong side on the field. My worry is their really young and inexperienced bench.

Toulon are scrambled at the minute.

  18. Postpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 13-28 Saracens

It's relentless from Saracens as they put pressure on Toulon again until Ben White hooks a kick clear to near halfway.

Players are dropping like flies for treatment, it's a warm day and this frantic start is taking its toll.

  19. converted try

Converted try - Toulon 13-28 Saracenspublished at 23 mins

    Juan Martin Gonzalez (Con: Burke)

Toulon make an utter hash of it on their line to concede again!

Sarries go close to the line but lose the ball, but the home defence allow it to bobble about and Gonzales pounces for his second of the day.

  20. Saracens have a dominant scrumpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 5 April

    Toulon 13-21 Saracens

    Jacob Atkins
Former London Irish fly-half on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Toulon's defence is really poor. I am really surprised to see Saracens have a dominant scrum. It's really easy to attack when your scrum is like that.

The breakdown is clearly a really important part of their game.
