Wales wing Alex Cuthbert - who is currently sidelined with injury - announced this week he will be leaving Ospreys at the end of the season.

Cuthbert, 34, has spent three seasons with the Swansea-based side after joining from Exeter Chiefs in 2021.

Cuthbert joins fellow departing Wales internationals George North and Nicky Smith, who are leaving to join Provence and Leicester respectively.

Wings Toby Fricker and Mat Protheroe, flanker Will Hickey and scrum-half Cam Jones are also on the Ospreys' released players list.

Ospreys head coach Toby Booth said: “We wanted to get this announcement out prior to our last home fixture so that our supporters could join us in thanking the boys for everything they’ve contributed in an Ospreys jersey.”

Benetton have managed to get a losing bonus point against Bulls so they have moved onto 49 league points.

That means it is imperative Ospreys win their final two games with bonus points to have a chance of a top eight finish and a play-off place.

Even that might not be enough.

  9. Dragons looking to thwart Ospreys againpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 18 May

    Ospreys v Dragons (15:00 BST)

Dragons are looking for their second win over the Ospreys this season, after coming out on top at Rodney Parade in November.

That win was the first at home for the Dragons in 385 days, and victory this afternoon would wipe out a couple more unwanted records.

Dragons have not won away from home in the Championship since beating Scarlets in Llanelli in April 2022, and their only previous league success at Swansea.com Stadium was in 2010.

    Ospreys v Dragons (15:00 BST)

Ospreys will clinch the 'Welsh Shield' this afternoon if they beat Dragons, an accolade for the side with the best league record against the other Welsh regions.

Howeve, Ospreys will have bigger ambitions.

With two games remaining, Ospreys find themselves eight points outside the URC play-off places, following two heavy defeats against Bulls and Leinster.

Toby Booth's side need to beat both Dragons and Cardiff, probably with bonus points, and hope other results go their way if they are to finish in the top eight and make the quarter-finals.
