New Zealand head coach Scott Robertson: "I'm really pleased. Really pleased we showed so much courage and care with both sides of the ball. It was a classic Test match. The boys performed after half-time and we're pretty pleased and stoked to get a result like that.

On his half-time message: "Keep doing what we were doing. We wanted to build some pressure and trust our skillsets. The guys who came off the bench made an impact and it was good to being some experienced players on."

It may not have been the blockbuster we had been hoping for, but it still sets us up nicely for a big weekend of international rugby.

England, after their late heartbreak against New Zealand last week, take on Australia at Twickenham.

Argentina, who face Ireland next week, take on Italy while Wales face Fiji.

After their win over Fiji last week, Scotland are back in action against the might Springboks on Sunday.

  8. 'The opposition deserved to win'published at 22:52 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    FT: Ireland 13-23 New Zealand

More from Farrell: "You can talk about all sorts of stuff, rustiness or game time but there is no excuse. It is what it is, the opposition deserved to win. As far as the penalty count, the game was stop start, it was scrappy and there were a lot of errors due to the weather, but it was a slow enough game at time, and we needed to look after our own energy which we didn't do.

"I was pleased with the fight in the second half, but the turning point was the crucial penalty from the scrum, and we compounded that after."

  10. 'It is pretty taxing defending against New Zealand'published at 22:48 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Some more from Doris on whether Ireland's lack of games was a factor in defeat: "We felt good at half-time; we back our fitness and training; we had 10 very good days and a few hard sessions over in Portugal.

"It is pretty taxing defending against a team like that, but I don't think it [fitness] was too much of a factor."

  11. 'It's a funny old feeling'published at 22:46 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    FT: Ireland 13-23 New Zealand

Here's more from Andy Farrell: "It's a funny a funny old feeling because we don't tend to have it too much in that dressing room. It is what it is. That's life. Congratulations to New Zealand and now we have to move on.

"We have to find the solutions as much as we possibly can. We have a hungry side in Argentina, who are playing some really good rugby at this moment in time. Se we need to get back on he horse and start it all over again."

  12. 'Our discipline gave them entry'published at 22:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    FT: Ireland 13-23 New Zealand

Ireland captain Caelan Doris: "Happy with the start of the second half, that was the message at half-time we felt like we hadn't really fired a shot, and we got momentum back early in the second half and the message was stay with that. They're a quality side and our discipline gave them entry, territory and possession and they came back into it in the second half."

  13. 'We're disappointed'published at 22:42 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

Ireland head coach Andy Farrell: "We're disappointed. It's easily summed up by the mood of the dressing room. It's pretty sombre. The lads are gutted and we're all gutted. I thought we';d prepped well, trained well and we were excited about the game. We didn't manage to put our game out on the field."

"Obviously the opposition have a big say in that. The energy and accuracy wasn't there for needing to win a big Test match like that."

  17. 'It was a hell of a game'published at 22:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    FT: Ireland 13-23 New Zealand

New Zealand head coach Scott Robertson speaking to TNT Sports: "It was a hell of a match, we defended extremely well, and it's really pleasing with all the work we have been doing. Discipline and self-control is an area you have to own it and I think a lot of individuals did."

On Damian McKenzie: "He is so mercurial and sometimes he doesn't get it right but when he does! He got enough right tonight, and I'm really pleased how he controlled the game and kept calm."

Ireland started the second half really well and looked like they would kick on but, all of a sudden, two more penalties and they were behind again and never recovered.

It was very strange and unlike them.

Ireland captain Caelan Doris, speaking to TNT Sport: "It was intense out there. We were quite reactive out there and our discipline wasn't where it needed to be. We got momentum at the start of the second half but they came back. They were quality, we weren't good enough.

"Discipline was a big part. We didn't fire enough shots and part of that was our defence letting them hold onto the ball. I'm not sure exactly what the answers are, but we weren't good enough tonight."

For Ireland, they still have three more matches this autumn to try and make amends for tonight's defeat.

Argentina travel to Dublin next Friday, and Andy Farrell's side have matches with Fiji and Australia to come.
