The ball is clearly like a bar of soap but heading into the last quarter of an hour, I'd love to see both teams loosen the shackles and take this game by the scruff of the neck.

We've only 18 minutes to play, by the way.

We knew it would be close, but this is so, so tight!

  3. Postpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-15 New Zealand

ANOTHER handling error stops an Ireland attack as Ciaran Frawley fizzes a pass that Iain Henderson can't hold on to.

  4. Penalty - Ireland 13-15 New Zealandpublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Damian McKenzie

After missing a long-range effort moment ago, Damian McKenzie lands this one and New Zealand lead!

Now, it's Ireland's turn to try and find a response!

A horrible moment for Tom O'Toole.

On the bench after injury to Tadhg Furlong and he lasts all of two minutes.

Hopefully not as bad as it looked for the Ulster prop.

If he doesn't return from the HIA, Finlay Bealham will have played virtually the whole game.

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

Play restarts with Ireland having a scrum on their own 10-metre line.

Ireland look like they have the momentum from the scrum, but Nic Berry feels Bealham burrowed in from an angle and New Zealand have the penalty.

The look on Bealham's face suggests he disagrees with that call.

  7. Replacementpublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

It looks like that is Tom O'Toole's night over, I'm afraid, after two minutes. He got caught on the wrong side of a tackle, took a heavy hit and he's off for a HIA.

    Finlay Bealham is back on.

These fans have come home from work and school today and hit the bars and restaurants in Dublin preparing for a big night at the Aviva but the two teams haven't really given them that so far.

They are still in good voice though but it has been scrappy.

  9. Postpublished at 21:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

Ireland win the scrum but momentum is again halted briefly by a handling error.

It's sent high and Will Jordan does really well to win the ball ahead of Mack Hansen.

Play is stopped after Tom O'Toole took a big hit. He's just on, so hopefully he's okay.

A let off for Ireland as the penalty comes back off the post but they need to sort their breakdown issues and handling errors if they're to come out on top here.

  11. Postpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

Jamison Gibson-Park has been superb so far, he won Ireland a scrum as play continued after the ball hit the post from McKenzie's penalty.

A big ask for those who have just come on.

Here comes Rob Herring for his first rugby of any kind since the summer against South Africa. Out of the drying pan and into the fire.

Iain Henderson, Tom O'Toole and Ciaran Frawley, the hero against the Springboks, are also on.

Finlay Bealham, Ronan Kelleher, Joe McCarthy and Jack Crowley are the men to make way.

  13. Missed penalty - Ireland 12-13 New Zealandpublished at 21:31 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Damian McKenzie

McKenzie can only hit the post! It was England's nemesis last week, will that haunt New Zealand?

  14. Postpublished at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

Ireland look like they are holding firm again but another infringement at the ruck hands New Zealand the penalty on halfway.

    McKenzie points to the posts.

We're back to a bit of kick tennis between the sides.

It's still greasy out there, so they're hoping to force the handling error.

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

Ireland hold firm and force New Zealand to kick, and Hugo Keenan beats Caleb Clarke to the ball.

Both men flew in there, but it was a fair contest and Ireland have it in their own half.

  17. Not enough Irish threatpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

    Tommy Bowe

The only Ireland players who have threatened regularly are Bundee Aki and Caelen Doris.

The conditions aren't ideal but it's no excuse for the sloppiness from both sides.

  18. Postpublished at 21:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 November

    Ireland 13-12 New Zealand

Some really poor handling errors are costing Ireland every time they look to build momentum.

Jack Crowley is the guilty party this time on halfway.

Right, Ireland have a scrum on halfway.

What can they do from here?

It was great that they got the first try of the game but I think Ireland would have hoped for more than seven points while Jordie Barrett was off the field.
