The Dragons pay the price immediately.
Ulster win the lineout and Herring, the man just back from the sin-bin, carries the ball at thge base of the maul before stripping clear and crashing over.
The first carry from Stuart McCloskey brings the ball into the Dragons half, but he lacks support when he hits the deck and is pinged for holding on after good pressure from Aneurin Owen.
An excellent kick fro the Dragons onto the right wing where Rio Dyer looks set to touch down but Nathan Doak manages to get there first and knock it out.
Clear head contact from Rob Herring on Matthew Screech and the referee Griffin Colby produces a yellow card. Perhaps fortunate that the Ulsterman will be coming back after only 10 minutes.
