Jack Crowley clearly thought better of trying to inject a bit of noise into the crowd by not kicking to the corner. Ireland's lineout has been messy at best, but surprising nonetheless.

Japan want to go wide and use their pace but Ireland have gone hard at the breakdown. They have some great jackals in that pack who thrive at ruck time.

It's overthrown by Ronan Kelleher and Japan get it, and then swiftly lose it.

Ireland will have the scrum on the 10-metre line.

Not the cleanest of starts from both teams.

Japan go through a couple more phases and Tommy O'Brien does well to get his hands over the ball to win a penalty.

It didn't pay off that time but that won't be the last time Ireland go to the air for Jacob Stockdale to chase.

It's a messy scrum and Naoto Saito passes it football style to Charlie Lawrence off the back of it.

Japan retain possession and have it midway through the Irish half.

Ireland gather the kick off and Jack Crowley sends the ball high into the air.

Jacob Stockdale goes up for it but he can't gather under pressure and Japan will have an early scrum.
