I'm not against going for the posts there. Settle the nerves and there will be plenty of time to go to the corner later on.

Crowley has kicked very well this season, and you can see the confidence. Ireland will look to build on this.

Jack Crowley clearly thought better of trying to inject a bit of noise into the crowd by not kicking to the corner. Ireland's lineout has been messy at best, but surprising nonetheless.

    Ireland 0-0 Japan

    Rory Best

Japan want to go wide and use their pace but Ireland have gone hard at the breakdown. They have some great jackals in that pack who thrive at ruck time.

    Ireland 0-0 Japan

It's overthrown by Ronan Kelleher and Japan get it, and then swiftly lose it.

Ireland will have the scrum on the 10-metre line.

Not the cleanest of starts from both teams.

    Ireland 0-0 Japan

Japan go through a couple more phases and Tommy O'Brien does well to get his hands over the ball to win a penalty.

Jack Crowley sends the ball down to the Japan half.

    Ireland 0-0 Japan

    Brian O'Driscoll

It didn't pay off that time but that won't be the last time Ireland go to the air for Jacob Stockdale to chase.

    Ireland 0-0 Japan

It's a messy scrum and Naoto Saito passes it football style to Charlie Lawrence off the back of it.

Japan retain possession and have it midway through the Irish half.

Jacob Stockdale goes up for it but he can't gather under pressure and Japan will have an early scrum.

The 12.40 GMT kick-off is certainly proving an odd one for supporters anyway.

The players have arrived before a huge chunk of the crowd.

Here come the teams at a sun-kissed Aviva Stadium.

It's not the biggest game Ireland will have this autumn, but my word it's important after last week's result.
