  1. All over at Thomond Parkpublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 9 May

    FT: Munster 38-20 Ulster

Well that's that in Limerick and looks like that's that for Ulster's season. A victory in Edinburgh this day next week and a 100+ point swing with the Scarlets is the miracle that Ulster need for knockout rugby this season and Champions Cup rugby next season.

Another disappointing second half after going in at the break in the game hurt Richie Murphy's side yet again. You can read Jonathan Bradley's match report here but, from Thomond Park, goodnight and thank you for joining us.

  2. 'Our best performance for a long time'published at 21:51 British Summer Time 9 May

    FT: Munster 38-20 Ulster

Munster Head Coach Ian Costello speaking to Premier Sports:

"It wasn't perfect but it was our best performance for a while. We gave the boys a great Limerick send off.

The atmosphere was unbelievable and the crowd really was special. We have a full house in Cork next week so we have to finish the job properly.

We just need to be in the play-offs."

  3. 'We didn't look after the ball well enough'published at 21:46 British Summer Time 9 May

    FT: Munster 38-20 Ulster

Ulster Head Coach Richie Murphy speaking to Premier Sports:

"Credit to Munster, they put us under a lot of pressure but we didn't look after the ball all evening.

We were in the game at half time but, as has been the case for much of the season, we fell away in the second half.

We will take a lot from this but it is extremely disappointing. The dressing room is really deflated but we will dust ourselves down and try to finish on a high at Edinburgh next week."

  4. 'We want to go all the way'published at 21:42 British Summer Time 9 May

    FT: Munster 38-20 Ulster

Tadhg Beirne speaking to Premier Sports:

"Peter (O'Mahony) means so much to Munster and you can't put into words what he means to the club. It was a great moment for him to score.

We want to go all the way in the league so we know we have to win every game from now on.

It's knockout rugby from here on in."

  5. 'We just wanted to send the lads off with a win'published at 21:29 British Summer Time 9 May

    FT: Munster 38-20 Ulster

Player of the Match Tom Farrell speaking to Premier Sports:

"We came into the week not looking at the table and just played the game and wanted to send the departing lads off with a win.

I've scored five of my ten tries against Ulster this season so I'm getting a bit of a knack of playing them!

We still have work to do next week if we want to play knockout rugby."

    Munster 38-20 Ulster

It's all over at Thomond Park and Ulster's season now hangs by the thinnest of threads. This win for Munster means their playoff destiny is in their own hands but Ulster head to the Scottish capital next week needing a minor miracle if they want a top eight finish and Champions Cup rugby next season.

The game was in the balance at the break but Munster managed the game superbly and Ulster could not even register a point in the second half for the second game in a row. Munster scored six times to Ulster's two in a disappointing inter-pro for Richie Murphy's men.

Three minutes remain as Tom Farrell is named Player of the Match. Ulster have not scored a point in the second half as Munster have managed the game superbly.

  8. Postpublished at 21:10 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 38-20 Ulster

Peter O'Mahony had his fairytale send off and Conor Murray nearly did too! He tries to get on the end of Diarmuid Kilgallen's kick ahead but the bounce evades him on the line and it is scrum down Ulster.

  9. Sin-binpublished at 21:06 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 38-20 Ulster

It is Munster's turn to lose a man to the bin as loose-head replacement Josh Wycherley is the unfortunate man to get punished for consecutive penalties just moments after entering.

Ulster go to the corner but spill the ball at the line-out. Eleven minutes remain as frustration grows for the visitors.

  10. Replacementpublished at 21:04 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 38-20 Ulster

Stephen Archer exits after his 302nd Munster cap and last one in Limerick before Conor Murray enters for his final Thomond Park outing.

More rapturous responses for two more bona fide Munster legends. Ulster, meanwhile, will be glad to see the back of Craig Casey!

  11. Postpublished at 21:01 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 38-20 Ulster

Ulster turn the ball over on the Munster line once again and Craig Casey sends them back into their own half with a wonderful clearance kick.

That will be so demoralising for the men in white.

    Munster 38-20 Ulster

Ulster respond well and Callum Reid gets over the line but is held up by Gavin Coombes. They really could have done with the ball meeting the turf there but still just over a quarter of an hour left.

This game is slowly slipping away from Richie Murphy's men though...

  13. try

Converted try - Munster 38-20 Ulsterpublished at 20:53 British Summer Time 9 May

    Peter O'Mahony (con Crowley)

It just had to be him. Munster have Ulster on the ropes and are showing no mercy. They have taken full advantage of the yellow card and it is a picture book try for a picture book moment.

Jack Crowley launches a cross-field kick into the corner where there is a height mismatch with O'Mahony leaping over Nathan Doak to slam the ball down on his last appearance at Thomond Park.

Just moments later, the Munster and Ireland legend leaves to a deafening standing ovation. What a career and what a way to finish it in Limerick before a send-off in his home town of Cork next week.

  14. try

Converted try - Munster 31-20 Ulsterpublished at 20:50 British Summer Time 9 May

    Tom Farrell (con Crowley)

Could that be the definitive blow for Ulster? Niall Scannell nails a throw to the tail to Gavin Coombes and they move it out the backline.

Farrell goes over for his second try through the gap that Stuart McCloskey left. It has taken 15 minutes but the first points of the second half could be critical here.

  15. Sin-binpublished at 20:49 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 24-20 Ulster

For the second time tonight, Ulster are temporarily down to 14 as Stuart McCloskey pulls up a pew. Munster win a turnover on halfway and have Ulster scrambling with a rapid break.

With Munster already playing with an advantage, McCloskey commits a professional foul at the ruck. Line-out Munster on the five...

  16. Postpublished at 20:46 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 24-20 Ulster

Munster's line-out has been an issue for a while now and, after a disastrous day in Cardiff a fortnight ago, Niall Scannell has not been able to shake the throwing yips tonight.

Another poor throw gifts Ulster a scrum and they win a powerful penalty just inside their own half. That allows Jack Murphy to nudge it into touch on the Munster ten metre line.

  17. Replacementpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 24-20 Ulster

Ulster make a back row replacement as Dave McCann is on for Matty Rea on the blind-side.

Callum Reid also replaces Andrew Warwick at loose-head.

  18. Postpublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 9 May

    Munster 24-20 Ulster

Brilliant Ulster goal line defence! Munster win another penalty after the lineout and opt to tap and go. Michael Milne puts his head down but is absolutely rocked by a double hit by Cormac Izuchukwu and Rob Herring.

This causes the Munster loose-head to spill the ball and, with it being dotted down behind his own line by Nick Timoney, Ulster clear their lines with a goal line drop-out.

Ulster are penalised at their own ruck on their own 22 and Munster are in the corner again. Can they make Ulster pay again?

Ulster get us back underway and immediately win the ball back straight from kick off.
