Wes Goosen hacks through into open space after a Gloucester kick is blocked, but the Edinburgh full-back appears to mistake the 5m line for the try line, and Gloucester get back in the nick of time.
From nowhere, Edinburgh almost have their first points of the night.
They stand firm in defence again, and Matt Currie bursts through a hole. He waits for Nathan Sweeney to arrive in support, but the winger then throws possession away with Gloucester stretched.
Edinburgh, searching for an immediate response, make their way into the Gloucester 22, but cough up possession far too easily and are suddenly back in their own 22 after a clever kick from Santi Carreras.
The visitors get away with it though after Chris Harris is pinged at the breakdown.

Despite Storm Darragh closing in on the west of England later tonight, the conditions are not too bad as we approach kick-off at Kingsholm.
It was pouring down when I parked up and headed into the stadium but it has stopped raining for now, although the wind is making the club flags flutter a lot at the top of one of the stands.
Last season, Gloucester's Challenge Cup run provided welcome respite for the Cherry and White's amid a torrid run of form in the Premiership and they threw everything at winning the competition in the second half of the campaign.
So far this season things are looking a little different, with Gloucester fifth in the Premiership table after seven games and with an impressive win against reigning champions Northampton under their belts last weekend.
No doubt they'd love to win the European trophy next spring for the third time in their history - and they are fielding a strong side tonight - but how will George Skivington split his squad going forward if the league form keeps up?

Gloucester director of rugby George Skivington tells Premier Sports: "Usually in Europe, you don't know the opposition very well; we've got a bit of recent history with Edinburgh.
"We know we're going to work extremely hard. They can score tries out of nothing and they've got some big men."

Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt tells Premier Sports: "We've built our squad depth over the last 12 months. It's great that some other guys get an opportunity and have a chance to put their hands up.
"Gloucester are slightly different to what we experienced against them earlier this year. Unfortunately we lost that first encounter so hopefully we can bounce back today."

A month ago, Edinburgh flanker Freddy Douglas had never played a game of senior rugby.
He's now Scotland's youngest male international since 1963 - having come off the bench in the Autumn Nations Series win over Portugal - has signed his first professional contract, and tonight makes his first club start.
Some rise for the 19-year-old, who Scotland forwards coach John Dalziel described as "already world class" last month.
