    USA 7-28 England

We're back under way, with USA chipping into the England half to get the second half going.

    USA 7-28 England

They are playing under a roof in Vancouver's BC Place, and it's an artificial pitch so conditions won't take a role today.

Just as well, as I'm assured by a friend from Vancouver that "it rains just as much as in the UK".

  3. Half-timepublished at 21:20 British Summer Time

    USA 7-28 England

A good start from England, USA came back really well but then the Red Roses turned the screw late on.

I still think John Mitchell won't be too happy with some of what he's seen, though, and this squad have set a high bar of late.

    Alex Matthews (con: Harrison)

That's admirable ruthlessness from the Red Roses.

The hooter had gone but they took a penalty rather than go for the dressing rooms, feeding the ball to the skipper Alex Matthews who shaped back inside to crash over the line.

Zoe Harrison lands another fine conversion and the half comes to an end.

    USA 7-21 England

That's really undone some great work by USA, but Kelter tries to drag things back, bashing into Zoe Harrison into the England half.

    Georgia Brock (con: Harrison)

Kelter goes from hero to zero, spilling a regulation pass a few metres out.

Georgia Brock pounces to dive over for her first international try, which Zoe Harrison converts with ease.

    Alev Kelter (con: Hawkins)

    What a brilliant solo try!

Alev Kelter chips ahead, gathers the kick then swerves to her right to elude several tacklers before diving over right under the posts!

Thoroughly deserved after an excellent few minutes from USA.

  8. Postpublished at 26 mins

    USA 0-14 England

The USA forwards are doing really well, disrupting the England scrum and winning the odd turnover. There's a bit of niggle after a scrum, they're not taking a backwards step.

BTW we are aware of an issue with the stream on the site, but if you can access the iPlayer it's on there. Our techno wizards are trying to fix things as we speak.

  10. Postpublished at 22 mins

    USA 0-0 England

There's another impressive break down the right flank from Bo Westcombe-Evans, it takes two to stop the debutant, who's had a good start to her international career so far.

  11. Postpublished at 20 mins

    USA 0-14 England

The Red Roses are camping out in the USA 22, and a pass to Jess Breach on the left wing doesn't quite go to hand.

  12. Postpublished at 17 mins

    USA 0-14 England

USA's Hope Rogers needed treatment for a knee injury, but she's back in action if moving a little gingerly.

  13. Postpublished at 17 mins

    USA 0-14 England

Zoe Harrison's first conversion was magnificent too, by the way - there will be fine margins in tougher tests than this, and a good kicker will be like gold dust.

    Kildunne (con: Harrison)

Yes, those nerves have been seen off!

Ellie Kildunne slices through a porous USA defence from inside her own half to sprint in under the posts.

  15. converted try

Converted try - USA 0-7 Englandpublished at 20:44 British Summer Time

    Lark Atkin-Davies (con: Harrison)

A training ground move pays off in style!

A lineout to the front is popped back to Sarah Bern, who feeds Lark Atkin-Davies, and the hooker has the timing iand power to dive over.

The try is converted from just in off the touchline by Zoe Harrison - nerves settled?

  16. Postpublished at 20:43 British Summer Time

    USA 0-0 England

Excellent defence from the USA, a Kris Thomas stopping Phoebe Murray dead in her tracks out near the touchline.

  17. Postpublished at 9 mins

    USA 0-0 England

It's not the slick England we normally see, there have been a few changes to the team and maybe they are not gelling. But they get a penalty after a neck roll, Zoe Harrison pumping the kick to eight metres from the try line.

  18. Postpublished at 6 mins

    USA 0-0 England

Bo Westcombe-Evans looks to have a glimmer of a try chance but she drops a rapid pass to the winger from Lucy Packer, ending a long spell of pressure from the Red Roses

  19. Postpublished at 5 mins

    USA 0-0 England

Bo Westcombe-Evans gets her first touch, steaming onto a long missed pass along halfway. The debutants have both seen the ball a bit so far, and they race downfield to put pressure on when a Zoe Harriosn kick is fumbled in the 22.

  20. Postpublished at 3 mins

    USA 0-0 England

England decimate the first scrum, but USA do well to get into the England half with number eight Rachel Johnson making about 20 metres. They lose the ball, and England run it back.

It's not one-way traffic at all so far.
