    Just as well, as I'm assured by a friend from Vancouver that "it rains just as much as in the UK".

    A good start from England, USA came back really well but then the Red Roses turned the screw late on.

    I still think John Mitchell won't be too happy with some of what he's seen, though, and this squad have set a high bar of late.

    The hooter had gone but they took a penalty rather than go for the dressing rooms, feeding the ball to the skipper Alex Matthews who shaped back inside to crash over the line.

    Alev Kelter chips ahead, gathers the kick then swerves to her right to elude several tacklers before diving over right under the posts!

    Thoroughly deserved after an excellent few minutes from USA.

    The USA forwards are doing really well, disrupting the England scrum and winning the odd turnover. There's a bit of niggle after a scrum, they're not taking a backwards step.

    A lineout to the front is popped back to Sarah Bern, who feeds Lark Atkin-Davies, and the hooker has the timing iand power to dive over.

    It's not the slick England we normally see, there have been a few changes to the team and maybe they are not gelling. But they get a penalty after a neck roll, Zoe Harrison pumping the kick to eight metres from the try line.

    Bo Westcombe-Evans looks to have a glimmer of a try chance but she drops a rapid pass to the winger from Lucy Packer, ending a long spell of pressure from the Red Roses

    Bo Westcombe-Evans gets her first touch, steaming onto a long missed pass along halfway. The debutants have both seen the ball a bit so far, and they race downfield to put pressure on when a Zoe Harriosn kick is fumbled in the 22.

    England decimate the first scrum, but USA do well to get into the England half with number eight Rachel Johnson making about 20 metres. They lose the ball, and England run it back.
