Lucio Sordoni goes for another cheap shot in the maul, that's why Glasgow won the penalty.

The Argentine prop has made this personal!

Racing's response is strong. Vinaya Habosi wanders through a few high tackles and the visitors win a penalty deep in Glasgow's 22m.

They kick to the corner... but the first throw isn't clean as they hold the jumper in the air, trying to milk a penalty.

They get a do-over from referee Karl Dickson... but the Warriors win the penalty defending on their own 5m line.

Glasgow look like they mean business here!

The try can be traced back to a magnificent break from deep by Sione Tuipulotu. From there on in the handling was superb to put George Horne in for the score.

He is now Warriors' all-time top try-scorer in European competition. A fine achievement.

Lucio Sordoni has just put in a real late hit on Sione Tuipulotu during a ruck.

The crowd didn't like it, and the tighthead is lucky to get away with one there. Play goes on.

    Glasgow make the perfect start!

From a scrum just inside Racing's half, they scythe through the middle of Racing's midfield.

It was Josh McKay who made the real break, bursting through a tackle before popping back to Tom Jordan, who then found Horne on his traditional support line.

Horne follows up with a conversion that he slams off the post, but it goes over.

Racing get us under way in Glasgow. I've checked the mercury and it is -4° pitchside at the moment.

Let me tell you, Scotstoun can be cold on a tropical day in Glasgow.

This is not the first time the glam and glitter of Racing 92 have graced Glasgow's West End.

The sides met four times in 2016 - twice in January and twice in December. The Warriors won three of the clashes, including both home matches.

This was Racing in their pomp remember, with one of the game's finest players Dan Carter in the saddle in the most recent clash.

No match of course, for a young Finn Russell. Zander Fagerson started that day, too. He is the only remaining Warriors from the 23.

  10. Four new laws for referee Dickson to look out forpublished at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January

    Glasgow Warriors v Racing 92 (20:00)

There's something else to keep an eye out for tonight - the laws look a little different.

Referee Karl Dickson explained on Premier Sports: "We've got four new laws tonight all around trying to speed the game up and make it more flowing.

"There's the 60-second shot clock after tries. There's the 30-second line out formation. There's a law protecting the nine, and there's 'not straight at the line-out' - if a team doesn't compete, we play on rather than stopping and giving a scrum.

"It's never ideal [to implement new laws] halfway through a season but we've had meetings around the new laws. I believe teams have been informed so hopefully it'll be off to a good start tonight."

Glasgow need to win, not just to stay in pole position for a place in the last 16, but to give themselves a best chance of a home draw, which is critical.

This is a contest between a club that has grown organically into something special and another club that is funded by a billionaire, Jacky Lorenzetti.

The real estate magnet has been shovelling cash into Racing for the best part of 20 years and, pitifully, he has one trophy to show for it - the Top 14 title of 2016.

It's an evening to chill yer bones at Scotstoun, but fair play to the ground staff here for working all week to ensure the pitch is playable and this match goes ahead.

Not so long ago the visit of Racing 92 would be enough to set the pulse racing, but it's fair to say the French side are not the force of yesteryear when Finn Russell was guiding them to a Champions Cup final.

They are currently ninth in the Top 14 and arrive in Glasgow missing a host of stars including Owen Farrell.

This is a huge opportunity for Warriors to progress in this tournament and if they can make a fast start it will be interesting to see how much stomach the visitors have for the fight.

    Glasgow Warriors v Racing 92 (20:00)

Put simply - a win for Glasgow will secure their places in the knockout stages of the competition.

It's the third of four games for the Warriors in the pool four of the Champions Cup, in which they currently sit second.

That was after a massive win against Sale Sharks at the start of December before the narrowest of losses against Toulon in France.

They have one game left after tonight, against Harlequins at the Stoop next Saturday.

  14. I know you...published at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 10 January

    Glasgow Warriors v Racing 92 (20:00)

England dynamo Henry Arundell is the most noticeable name on the Racing 92 teamsheet, with Stuart Lancaster opting against a few major stars.

There's no Demba Bamba, Cameron Woki, Nolann Le Garrec, Gail Fickou - all French internationals - or star man Owen Farrell.

19-year-old lock Junior Kpoku is one to watch. Born and raised in England, he spent time in the academies at Saracens and Exeter before breaking through in Paris.

On the bench, fly-half Dan Lancaster is the son of head coach Stuart. He also qualifies for Scotland, I believe.

Warriors head coach Franco Smith makes five changes to the side beaten by Edinburgh at Murrayfield two weeks ago.

Rory Sutherland and Johnny Matthews come into the front row, replacing Jamie Bhatti and Gregor Hiddleston, while flanker Rory Darge replaces Ally Miller.

In the backs, George Horne is preferred to Jamie Dobie at scrum-half and Josh McKay returns from injury on the wing with Kyle Rowe dropping out.

Hello and welcome to a sub-zero Scotstoun!

On a f-f-freezing cold night in Glasgow, we are sure to get some fiery rugby as the Warriors host rugby's Galacticos, Racing 92.

However, some fans might argue that Glasgow have their own world-class stars these days.

Let's have a look at the teams.
