Summary

  1. Mixed day for Scottish sidespublished at 17:03 British Summer Time 26 October

So a day of contrasting fortunes for the Scottish sides in the URC. Feel like we've been saying that a lot over the last wee while!

Glasgow Warriors produced a brilliant second-half performance, inspired by the exceptional Sione Tuipulotu, to claim a bonus-point win over the Stormers in Stellenbosch.

The champions took seven points out of 10 on their two-match tour of South Africa, a terrific return for Franco Smith's men in one of the most challenges periods of the season.

Not such a good day for Edinburgh as their mini-revival came to an end with a bitterly disappointing display as they went down 22-13 to the Ospreys, who had started the weekend bottom of the URC.

While showing some heart in defence, Edinburgh once again showed very little in attack and some familiar questions will be heading towards head coach Sean Everitt.

Roll on the autumn Tests which begin next weekend with Scotland v Fiji. The Scotland Rugby Podcast will guide you through it all so remember to subscribe at BBC Sounds.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    Ospreys 22-13 Edinburgh

Edinburgh survive one last assault on their line and Ospreys miss out on the bonus point.

They do secure the victory that takes them off the bottom of the URC and were fully deserving winners after dominating Edinburgh in that second-half.

    Ospreys 22-13 Edinburgh

Ospreys lose the ball in the tackle and Edinburgh are suddenly up the other end looking for a try to salvage a losing bonus point.

Ospreys now going down the other end looking for that fourth try.

It's taken 85 minutes for this game to come to life!

    Ospreys 22-13 Edinburgh

One last attack from Edinburgh ends when they are pinged for holding on and that rather sums up their day.

Ospreys could end it here and now but elect to go for the line-out as they search for a four-try bonus point....

    Ospreys 22-13 Edinburgh

Ospreys send the Edinburgh scrum backwards and force a penalty that allows Williams to kick them down into the visitors' half.

  6. try

Try Ospreys! Sam Parry (con Williams)published at 16:44 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ospreys 22-13 Edinburgh

Sam Parry burrows over from close range and that might well be that.

The 5m line-out is repelled initially by Edinburgh but Ospreys keep knocking at the door and eventually Parry is able to convert from close range.

Williams adds the extras and it's a nine-point game.

Given the complete lack of attacking threat Edinburgh have posed so far, it's hard to see a way back.

    Ospreys 15-13 Edinburgh

Edinburgh are penalised for side entry to an Ospreys maul that was rumbling towards the line.

The Scottish side have conceded 12 penalties so far and the referee seems to be losing patience with them.

Ospreys go to the corner again.

  8. Missed penalty - Owen Williamspublished at 16:40 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ospreys 15-13 Edinburgh

Oh dear! Owen Williams has not enjoyed a good day from the tee.

He pulls his effort from 30m wide of the posts. It's not a complete shocker, but certainly the kind of opportunity top kickers would expect to convert.

Williams will hope that does not come back to bite him and his team.

    Ospreys 15-13 Edinburgh

Edinburgh look to have forced an important penalty as Matt Currie makes an excellent tackle on Daniel Kasande and the Ospreys wingers gets done for holding on.

However, the TMO spots an off-the-ball tackle from Mosese Tuipulotu and reverses the decision to give the Welsh side a shot at goal.

"It feels like a game just before the autumns Tests.

"You wonder if a few players are thinking in the back of their minds, 'Just get yourself through this' as they look ahead to those international games."

  11. Penalty Edinburgh - Ross Thompsonpublished at 16:33 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ospreys 15-13 Edinburgh

Ross Thompson gets another crack at the posts, this time from much closer in and from the comfort of the tee.

The fly-half makes no mistake and Edinburgh are back within two.

    Ospreys 15-10 Edinburgh

Ross Thompson tries a drop-goal from fully 45m out that drifts wide of the posts.

I do love a good drop-goal, but that smacks of desperation right now.

Edinburgh need to get their big ball-carriers working.

Very straightforward kick coming up for Williams....

    Ospreys 12-10 Edinburgh

Big test of Edinburgh's resolve now. They have shown nothing in attack in this second half.

From an attacking scrum on the Ospreys 10m line, Ross Thompson tries a cross-field kick from first phase looking for Duhan van der Merwe.

It's too strong for the winger and the chance is lost.

Edinburgh need to up their game here.

  17. try

Try Ospreys! Gareth Thomaspublished at 16:19 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ospreys 12-10 Edinburgh

Jac Morgan sticks the ball in one hand, plants the other into Ross Thompson's chest and powers his legs to within inches of the line.

Another few phases of pressure and Gareth Thomas then takes charge to edge his side in front.

Owen Williams pulls his conversion wide of the posts.

The Edinburgh scrum is good but Ben Vellacott's clearance kick is not and Ospreys will have another crack from the line-out on the Edinburgh 22.

  19. Sin-bin - Jamie Ritchiepublished at 16:14 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ospreys 7-10 Edinburgh

    Huge defensive set from Edinburgh.

Ospreys have a 5m scrum and launch another assault on the try-line, Edinburgh resist but the referee rules they have done so illegally and Jamie Ritchie pays the price with a yellow card.

Ospreys have another go but Edinburgh hold firm to keep them out and force a knock-on.

  20. Disallowed trypublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 26 October

    Ospreys 7-10 Edinburgh

Keelan Giles makes a break up the left touchline and suddenly Edinburgh are scrambling.

Ospreys pound away at the line and eventually Jac Morgan stretches for the line.

However, the back-row loses control of the ball at the crucial moment and the try is ruled out.

The home side did have penalty advantage though and they kick to the corner.
