    Georgia 0-14 Ireland

Georgia win the penalty from the scrum.

They may be 14-0 down but it's a small win for their forward pack.

There's a little bit of afters with the majority of players involved. These two sides don't play very often so I'm guessing they just want to get to know each other a bit more.

    Georgia 0-14 Ireland

Jacob Stockdale wins the ariel battle from the latest kick and Ireland have the scrum on the edge of the home 22.

The weather seems to be causing a few issues for the forward packs, and it's taking a few attempts to get going.

After that smooth start for Ireland, we're starting to see how dangerous Georgia can be when they get ball in hand.

Much of the chat from the Irish camp this week focused on the threat carried in the Georgian backline, with Davit Niniashvili's name mentioned more than once.

Ireland come flying forward but Sam Prendergast's kick is into the arms of Kveseladze, who calls the mark and sends the ball down the other end of the pitch.

Osborne sends it back again, and Georgia respond through the boot of Niniashvili.

Who doesn't love a bit of kick tennis? It is Wimbledon week after all.

It's brilliant by Gavin Coombes who got his body over the ball and wins the penalty turnover for Ireland.

Prendergast thumps it into the 22 but can't find touch.

Georgia kick it back, but it doesn't get much mileage and Ireland will have the throw just outside the 22.

Jimmy O'Brien gathers the ball in the air but it spills forward after he landed back on the turf.

Georgia will have the scrum midway in the Irish half.

    It's ruled out.

It's a shame for Georgia because that was a great move and (almost) a great finish by Tabutsadze.

A bit of a let off for Ireland.

The TMO says there isn't any separation between the wing's hand and the ball, but was there enough downwards pressure.

There are having several looks at this.

It's a great run from the little winger.

Jacob Stockdale is beaten in the tackle, and then Tabutsadze dances inside Prendergast.

He's eventually brought down and tries to touch the ball down as he rolls over. But he might have knocked it on.

    This is close.

Akaki Tabutsadze thinks he gets over after dancing around the Irish defence but did he get it down?!

Here comes the maul again and Nick Timoney legally stops it.

What can the Georgians do through the hands?

There's no advantage and referee Andrea Pirardi brings play back.

It's right into the corner from Matkava this time.

The hosts win the throw and here comes the maul....

It's brought down and they win the penalty advantage.

Ireland are playing some basketball rugby despite the conditions.

This time O'Brien runs into a bit of trouble and Georgia win the penalty on halfway.

It's sent just outside the 22 by Luka Matkava.

We did wonder how this Ireland side would get on against a physical Georgia team, who would be looking a scalp.

The answer? So far, so good.

It's that man again! Two in eight minutes!

It came from the scrum and Ireland fired it wide through the hands.

O'Brien was there on the right wing to scamper over and his wonder Ireland debut continues.

    Prendergast lands the tricky conversion.

    Georgia 0-7 Ireland

Ireland have spotted space again and Prendergast chips the ball through for O'Brien from his own 22.

The bounce is kind and O'Brien is onto it, and he hooks it forward again and the ball is rolling towards the Georgian line.

Vasil Lobzhanisze races back and wins the foot race with Prendergast and O'Brien, but he carried the ball over the line and Ireland have the scrum five metres out.

The kicking game is working a treat so far.

Two of Tommy O'Brien's four tries for Leinster in the 2024-25 season came in the Champions Cup quarter and semi-finals, so it's not overly surprising that he's marked his Test debut in the grand manner.

That's the perfect start for Paul O'Connell's Ireland.

It was great from Casey and Osborne to create the space to start with, and Prendergast's kick was clever and read by O'Brien as the Leinster connection worked a treat.

    Tommy O'Brien (con Prendergast)

Tommy O'Brien crosses 100 seconds into his Ireland debut!

With the penalty advantage, Prendergast lobs a ball in behind the Georgian defence.

It takes a touch of two off a couple of home hands, but O'Brien reads it and scores unchallenged.

    Prendergast then adds the extras.
