'Young men do make mistakes' - Wales boss explains Hill captaincy

Head coach Warren Gatland explains his controversial decision to make Cory Hill captain of Wales for Friday's game against Queensland Reds in Brisbane.

Forward Hill was involved in an incident in May 2021 in which a woman's house was damaged, which the woman said left her fearing for her and her children's lives.

Hill was not charged by police, but apologised in a statement at the time and again spoke of his regret in the press conference to announce the Wales team to face the Reds.

Gatland said he had a "heart-to-heart" with 32-year-old Hill about the incident, adding that "young men make mistakes".
