Britain's Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark finished second in the 470 World Championship by winning Saturday's medal race in Israel.

The 2012 world champions needed to win with Austria coming last to take gold.

However, Austria's Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar were fifth to secure a second successive world title.

Mills and Clark, who have qualified for the Rio Olympics, wrote on Twitter: "At one point we had the Austrians but it was always going to be tricky."

Luke Patience and Elliot Willis finished 10th in the men's event as Australia's Mat Belcher and Will Ryan won a third successive title.
