Great Britain's Olympic shooting champion Peter Wilson says he will defend his title at the 2016 Rio Games.

Wilson won gold in the double trap event at the London 2012 Games, but had to overcome several obstacles, including a lack of funding.

And the Dorset-based 26-year-old says he has decided to compete in Brazil.

"After a lengthy lay-off I am delighted to announce my determination to compete in Rio," Wilson wrote on Twitter., external "The last 6 months have been incredible."

His gold meant the sport's targets were met and has consequently been handed an increase in funding from £2.5m to £3m.

Wilson is coached by legendary shooter Ahmed Al Maktoum.
