Mark Allen beats amateur Joe Swail 4-0 in PTC event in Galway

Mark Allen remained on course for back-to-back ranking tournament triumphs by beating Joe Swail in the Players Tour Championship Grand Finals in Galway.

Thursday night's 4-0 victory over his fellow Northern Irishman, who is competing as an amateur, takes Allen into the quarter-finals of the event.

Antrim man Allen will play either Ding Junhui of China or Scotland's Anthony McGill in Saturday's quarter-finals.

In Thursday's other round two match, Tom Ford beat Jack Lisowski 4-3.

Ford battled back from 3-1 down against his fellow Englishman.

Earlier this month Allen beat Matthew Stevens 10-4 in China to retain the Haikou World Open title.
