Trump's impressive run over after defeat by Xu

World number one Judd Trump has failed to reach a tournament quarter-final for the first time in 2024 after a last-16 defeat by China's Xu Si at the International Championship.
The Englishman had reached at least the last eight on 15 successive occasions but is out after a 6-4 defeat in Nanjing.
Xu, the world number 49, raced into a 2-0 lead with breaks of 76 before Trump won three frames in succession to go in front.
Trump, 35, maintained his lead after the pair exchanged breaks of 65, but Xu secured the win with breaks of 104, 69 and 68.
The 26-year-old, who made a maximum147 break against Ryan Day in the previous round, will play Mark Selby or Gary Wilson next.
Welshman Jackson Page progressed to the last eight with a 6-4 win over China's Pang Junxu, who beat Ronnie O'Sullivan, the seven-time world champion, in the previous round.
Chris Wakelin is also through after a 6-4 win over Mark Williams while Scotland's John Higgins, the four-time world champion, survived a scare from 3-1 and 5-4 down to edge China's Lyu Haotian 6-5.
