A reminder there's no more semi-final action until this evening when Mark Williams and Judd Trump resume.

We were due to have the final session of Ronnie O'Sullivan against Zhao Xintong this afternoon but that match ended last night in the Chinese player's favour.

Fans who had bought tickets for the afternoon session at the Crucible will not get a refund but will instead be treated to an exhibition between two legends of the game as Steve Davis and Dennis Taylor lock horns 40 years after they played out their famous 'black ball final'.

This interval might have just come at the right time for Judd Trump and his team. They can regroup and reset this afternoon and the will come back tonight. He's in trouble but that might bring out his best.

There's a long way to go. We are nowhere near the line Judd has to regroup, do what he has done all week, and then crack on this evening.

Paul Curran: Should be a cracking final session tonight.

William Callaghan: Judd in big trouble now, being completely outplayed by Willo, doesn't look anywhere near being the so-called favourite for the title that many thought. Terrific snooker though from Willo.

Judd Trump has done so little wrong but at this level, in the World Championship semi-finals, you don't have to make many mistakes at all.

Zhao Xintong to win the World Snooker title and Blackburn Rovers to seal a play off place in dramatic fashion. Both events taking place in Sheffield this weekend. To everybody in Sheffield...savour both. You are watching history being made.

Mark Williams has shown tremendous resolve. That's a brilliant session of snooker he has just played there. You could see he was 'in the zone there' with the balls going into the middle of the pocket. It was incredibly difficult for Judd Trump to play against. It's as simple as that.

Judd Trump will go in two frames adrift and disappointed with how the morning session has gone. Mark Williams has been absolutely superb and if Trump is going to get through to the final he's going to have to up his game.

    Williams 13-11 Trump

With four reds left on the table Mark Williams misses one with the rest into the corner pocket, but with 83 points banked the final frame of the session belongs to him.

The Welshman will come back this evening with a two-frame advantage.

My question was what was the world number one going to find after going two frames behind? He's responded with possibly his best break of the tournament.

There's almost a refusal to back down on any big shots from both players.

Mark Williams' break building has been pretty on point so far in this session. Every visit to the table he's largely been a profitable one.

He's motoring through the reds in the final frame of the session.

That red that Judd Trump cut in off the cushion he wasn't really on. That's his best shot of the match so far. He's played on instinct and on talent.

There's nothing that Mark Williams could do about that! An unbelievable plant and an incredible frame from Judd Trump. He had not potted ball since the mid-session interval so he'll be happy to be just one behind.

    Williams 12-11 Trump

Brilliant and brave snooker from Judd Trump to secure this frame. He tucks away a very tricky red on the cushion with the finest of cuts to nip in front.

The yellow and green are put away confidently before missing the brown, but a break of 64 is more than enough to give the world number one the frame.

Thrilling stuff from Trump, who has delivered a great response to falling two frames behind.

Judd Trump had another word with the referee on his way out (after the last frame). I was speaking to Mark Williams at the interval and he said "it's freezing" in the arena. It is one of those situations where it's the same for both players.

A break of 29 for Mark Williams to kic off the 23rd frame but he has to play safe after being hampered by the split of the reds. Rather than respond with a safety shot, Judd Trump takes on a risky plant at the top of the pack...and nails it.

This is an incredible performance from one of the all-time greats. Mark Williams is finding that extra gear when he needs it the most. He is in total control of the cue ball.

This is top draw from Mark Williams. He is cueing like a dream. Since the mid-session interval Judd Trump has yet to pot a ball!

Vintage Mark Williams as he wraps up the frame, and takes a two-frame lead for the first time in this match.

Williams confidently dispatches the reds left on the table then clears up the colours, displaying some excellent control of the cue ball in the process.

Surprised World Snooker doesn't insure for matches that finish before the final session - happens in cricket and keeps the fans happy.

    Andrew Nottingham

In a statement, the World Snooker Tour said: "We are putting together a fantastic exhibition this afternoon featuring all-time snooker legends.

"We realise that fans come from all over the world to enjoy the Crucible experience so our intention is to provide the best possible entertainment in these circumstances.

"This is the first time in over a decade that a semi-final has finished a session early so it is a very rare occurrence and unfortunately beyond our control."

Judd Trump favours a risky long pot over safety, but ends up rattling it into the jaws of the corner pocket. Trump lingers at the table and looks to the heavens.

Mark Williams rises ominously from his chair.
