  1. Murphy levels at intervalpublished at 16:08 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 2-2 Maguire

Disaster for Stephen Maguire as, escaping a snooker, the cue ball ricochets off yellow and green - and goes in-off.

Not only that, he's left the red over the pocket for Shaun Murphy.

Should be a routine clearance - and it is.

    Trump 9-3 Ford

Tom Ford trying his best to prevent that, Michael.

He's got a decent lead in the first frame after the interval and the reds are beautifully positioned.

  3. A Saturday off for Trump?published at 16:03 British Summer Time 26 April

    Trump 9-3 Ford

    Michael Emons
BBC Sport at the Crucible Theatre

Judd Trump will be hoping to win with a session to spare - and he will do so if he wins the final four frames of this afternoon's play.

Trump dispatched world number 19 Hossein Vafaei with an impressive 10-5 win in the first round and is in complete control against Tom Ford with a 9-3 lead.

Ford needs to win one of the four frames to take the play into the third session on Saturday morning at 10:00 BST.

He did have one great moment today when he took the 10th frame. He was on course for a maximum 147 but faltered on 73 after 10 reds and nine blacks.

There have only been 14 maximum breaks in Crucible history and Kyren Wilson has come the closest this year in his 10-1 first-round thrashing of Dominic Dale. Wilson potted 11 reds and 11 blacks, but his break ended on 88 as he missed the 12th red.

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

    John Virgo
1979 UK Championship winner on BBC Two

When they started this frame, it seemed an important one - and now it's gaining more and more significance for me.

  5. Postpublished at 16:01 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

I'm losing track of the amount of missed pots in this frame. Not quite shredsville but not far off. 45-45 with two reds left and it's developing into an important frame, this.

  6. Postpublished at 16:00 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

After a couple of Murphy misses, Stephen Maguire takes on a red to the middle pocket and lands it but can't string a break together of note.

Long red by the 'Magician' but he soon runs out of position, like Maguire did. Murphy pushes the boat out with a tough red along the bottom cushion - and it stays out, over the pocket.

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

Ha! Revenge a dish best served extremely warm, it seems!

Stephen Maguire gets Shaun Murphy in behind the black and yellow in return. Trouble for the 2005 champion.

  8. Postpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

Three misses and counting for the Scot.

It's a horrendous snooker. He's trying to come off four cushions to clip a red.

A change of tack, a different angle and this time he hits it.

  9. Postpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

Shaun Murphy lays an absolutely filthy snooker behind the black and yellow which are locked together in baulk. He's five points to the good and might get a few more off this.

  10. 'Been fascinating to watch'published at 15:47 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

    John Parrott
1991 world champion on BBC Two

It's been a little scrappy in parts - both players missing easy pots by their standards, but it's been fascinating to watch.

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

    Stephen Maguire's dander is up.

The Scot, who had to qualify for the World Championship this year, remember, strokes in a lovely long red at the start of frame four.

A thin black is cut in to follow.

  12. Maguire nudges in frontpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-2 Maguire

Just like he did in frame two, Stephen Maguire finds the goods late in the frame after a Shaun Murphy error in trying to escape a snooker.

  13. Trump moves six aheadpublished at 15:40 British Summer Time 26 April

    Trump 9-3 Ford

Yep, Ford needs snookers but gets trapped in one himself - and concedes the frame.

Mid-session interval now. If Trump takes the four remaining frames this afternoon, he'll be through with a session to spare.

  14. Postpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time 26 April

    Trump 8-3 Ford

Lifeline for Tom Ford as Judd Trump gets a bad contact in trying to get on the final red then plays a poor snooker attempt.

It leaves Ford a very makeable long red but he misses it, the red ends up basically where it started and Trump knocks it in to leave his opponent needing snookers. Lifeline gone.

  15. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 26 April

    Murphy 1-1 Maguire

This match being played at a much slower pace than the one over the other side of the partition.

Then again, not many play at the speed of Trump and Ford.

The third frame's been a battle of attirition but Stephen Maguire is in the box seat to take it.

    Trump 8-3 Ford

Oh dear. Tom Ford has gone ultra uber aggressive. Very speculative long red down the cushion is miles away and, even worse, he goes in off.

Big chance for Judd Trump to move another frame closer to the quarter-finals. First to 13, remember.

  18. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 26 April

    Trump 8-3 Ford

Tom Ford takes Stephen Hendry's advice to heart - after being unlucky to fall out of position, he takes on a long blue with no easy safety on.

But it rattles and gives Judd Trump an easy red. The world number two, though, cannot get om the black either so it's now a safety battle with Ford 24-2 ahead.

  19. 'Ford is staying aggressive'published at 15:28 British Summer Time 26 April

    Trump 8-3 Ford

    Stephen Hendry
Seven-time world champion on BBC Two

When you're chasing these long matches - and Tom is five frames behind - you think do I go for these shots? Or try to keep it tight and wait for opportunities?

At this level, if you wait for chances, you could be a long time waiting. You've got to take these opportunities and that's why that was such a great pot from Tom, staying aggressive.

He can't really afford any more unforced errors, it's got to be flawless now to get back into this match.

    Trump 8-3 Ford

Tom Ford is not going to go down without a fight, that's for sure.

A long, straight-ish red had a whole host of risk associated with it - but he goes for it and it's in.
