Guernsey's Chris Simpson reaches career-high ranking

Guernsey's Chris Simpson has reached the highest ranking of his career after a fine run of recent form.
Simpson has risen four places to number 21 in the world, , externalafter reaching the semi-finals of the Malaysian Open.
The 26-year-old's move up the rankings has added significance as players inside the top 23 gain automatic entry into Super Series events.
Talking to BBC Guernsey in September, Simpson said his anticipated ranking would be a "big step" for his career.
"It means I won't have to qualify, so I can go into the first round fresh," he added.
"That's a big milestone for my career."
