Wimbledon 2013: Dan Evans loses in qualifiers in Roehampton

Britain's Dan Evans has lost to Spain's 25th seed Daniel Munoz-De La Nava in the first round of Wimbledon qualifiers in Roehampton.

Evans, 23, who lost to Juan Martin Del Potro in the third round at Queen's last week, rallied in the second set before losing 6-1 3-6 6-2.

Fellow Britons Josh Goodall, Edward Corrie, Lewis Burton and Joshua Ward Hibbert were also defeated.

But Alex Bogdanovic, Jamie Baker and David Rice all progressed.

Bogdanovic, the British number five, beat Marek Semjan 7-6 (7-5) 6-3, while Rice eased past Sebastian Rieschick 6-3 6-2.

Baker needed three sets to beat 17th seed Matteo Viola 4-6 6-3 6-4.

Goodall lost 6-4 7-6 (8-6) to Samuel Groth, while Corrie was beaten 6-4 5-7 7-5 by ninth seed Illya Marchenko.

Dustin Brown beat Burton 6-4 6-3 and Ward Hibbert was defeated 6-4 6-4 by Alex Kuznetsov.
