Sam Querrey beat Alexandr Dolgopolov in three sets to join Uzbekistan's Denis Istomin in the Nottingham Open final.
American 12th seed Querrey, 27, beat his Ukrainian opponent 4-6 6-3 7-5.
World number 92 Istomin, 28, progressed to Saturday's final when Marcos Baghdatis retired with a calf injury just three games into their semi-final.
Cypriot Baghdatis, 30, is due to face American Donald Young in the first round of Wimbledon, where he was a semi-finalist in 2006.
He said he would make a decision on whether he would appear at Wimbledon, which begins on Monday, after seeing a doctor at the weekend.
"I felt my calf pop," he said. "I was feeling good, I was happy, everything was going my way and I was a break up early in the match. It's just the way it is."
Dolgopolov showed signs of frustration in his defeat by Querrey, throwing his racquet on the floor during the deciding set.
The world number 75 beat two-time Wimbledon champion Rafael Nadal at Queen's Club last week.
