Winston-Salem Open: Kevin Anderson beats Herbert to win title

Kevin Anderson's last ATP Tour title came in 2012

South African world number 15 Kevin Anderson beat French qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert to win the Winston-Salem Open in North Carolina.

Second seed Anderson claimed his first ATP Tour title of the year with a 6-4 7-5 victory.

The 29-year-old will meet Russia's Andrey Rublev in the first round of the US Open, which starts on Monday.

World number 140 Herbert plays Spain's 23rd seed Roberto Bautista Agut in New York.
