Big cheers as the British-Finnish duo get on the board following a Patten reflex smash at the net.

Harri Heliovaara then challenges after his first serve is called out. If it's in it's an ace. Ah no, Hawkeye give the man a break. It stays out by the tightest of smidges and then Heliovaara errors a backhand on the next rally.

    One-way traffic at the interval.

When you're in a tight situation like this, all you can do is defend the net and force your opponent to hit a winner. Heliovaara couldn't do it.

Interesting to see with men's doubles these days - they serve so big so it's almost impossible to serve and volley. They stay back and wait for the forehand.

    *Purcell/Thompson 5-6 Heliovaara/Patten

The crowd are on their feet after Henry Patten somehow gets to a lob and responds with a ridiculous chip of his own. Max Purcell can't believe it and is made to look silly, unable to scamper back to the ball.

Harri Heliovaara finishes off his service game and the pressure swings from the British-Finnish duo back on to the Australians.

After the earlier excitement of the three-set match in the women's singles final, with Barbora Krejcikova defeating Jasmine Paolini 6-2 2-6 6-4, a large number of fans have used the opportunity to get refreshed and stretch their legs.

But at each changeover, when the fans are allowed back to their seats, more and more fans are returning to watch the action.

I'd say we're probably about half full, but that will certainly improve as the match goes on.

I knew it was too good to be true.

Max Purcell wins four points in a row with more terrific big serving and we're level again after 29 minutes.

Henry Patten serves again and it's another comfortable hold on Centre.

Nobody has built any pressure at all, it's like a feel-good confidence boosting serving training session.

Purcell/Thompson will serve to stay in the set.

There's not much you can do in the return area when the server is finding the spot. There are not any second serves available to be able to have a go at.

  19. Purcell/Thompson hold againpublished at 17:23 British Summer Time 13 July

    Purcell/Thompson 4-4 Heliovaara/Patten*

Four games from Purcell and Thompson and still no points lost on their serve.

    Dominance that, pure dominance.

I wonder whether there is still a chance someone would do a chip return. There's not many who do it these days other than Max Purcell.
