Kessler 6-3 3-6 3-4 Boulter*
Oh dear. 30-30, and Ktie Boulter tries one drop shot too many, getting too much zip on the ball and allowing Kessler to run forward and power a forehand into the corner.

Oh dear. 30-30, and Ktie Boulter tries one drop shot too many, getting too much zip on the ball and allowing Kessler to run forward and power a forehand into the corner.
Kessler 6-3 3-6 3-4 Boulter*
Katie Boulter loves a cross-court backhand winner. I don't know how she keeps pulling this shot off, but it's certainly working!
30-15.
Alcaraz 5-5 Rinderknech*
But Alcaraz hauls himself back from danger, a delicate volley that drops just over the net putting him 40-30 up. Rinderknech takes the next point but Alcaraz battles back again, holding as Rinderknech's lob attempt goes long.
*Alcaraz 4-5 Rinderknech
Alcaraz is in a spot of bother here as Rinderknech takes the first two points on the world number two's serve...
Kessler 6-3 3-6 3-4 Boulter*
Hold to love from Kessler, sealed with an ace. New balls please!
*Kessler 6-3 3-6 2-4 Boulter
There we go. There's the consolidation game. Boulter keeps her energy levels up to chase down rallies and hold to 15.
*Alcaraz 4-5 Rinderknech
Another hold to love by Rinderknech. His serving has been on point so far.
Alcaraz 4-4 Rinderknech*
Alcaraz takes the next point with a drop shot before Rinderknech's forehand is overcooked and Alcaraz holds.
*Alcaraz 3-4 Rinderknech
Oooh that was close. Rinderknech gets up to the net as Alcaraz sends a forehand past him and it lands just on the line. The world number two leads 30-15 on his serve.
Kessler 6-3 3-6 2-3 Boulter*
What. A. Pass.
Boulter gets the break right back with a beauty of a cross-court backhand winner. The Briton retakes the lead in the decider.
*Kessler 6-3 3-6 2-2 Boulter
Kessler continues to go big, and whacks a backhand into the corner which even Boulter applauds.
Break points saved. But then Boulter nabs the next point, and we're back to where we were.
*Kessler 6-3 3-6 2-2 Boulter
Superb defence from Boulter at 30-30, somehow managing to return Kessler's brutal hitting. And she's rewarded when Kessler wallops one into the net.
*Alcaraz 3-4 Rinderknech
Rinderknech follows up a strong serve with a disguised drop shot, leading to Alcaraz slipping as he attempts to get to it, but he has no chance.
Good tennis by the Frenchman on his way to the hold.
Alcaraz 3-3 Rinderknech*
Alcaraz is indeed wanting to just crack on as he is out of his seat early for the start of the sixth game.
The crowd enjoy Rinderknech's attempt to save a lob as he hooks a return high above the arena, but it lands out to a few groans.
He does get a good forehand winner down the line soon after, but it doesn't stop Alcaraz holding.
We remain on serve.
*Kessler 6-3 3-6 2-2 Boulter
Another twist in the third set. We're back on serve after Boulter fizzes a backhand long.
Kessler 6-3 3-6 1-2 Boulter*
Kessler puts her return right in the spot. Punishing a Boulter second serve to move to 15-40.
*Alcaraz 2-3 Rinderknech
Nice work by Rinderknech as he breezes to a love hold.
He's not really put a foot wrong so far.
Alcaraz 2-2 Rinderknech*
Alcaraz plays a couple of shots that are perhaps a bit unnecessary but he gets the job done.
The TV commentators muse as to whether he plays some risky efforts out of boredom and maybe so, although I think he'll want to avoid a near four-hour epic today.
Kessler 6-3 3-6 1-2 Boulter*
Great Britain's Katie Boulter goes a break up in the final set after Kessler chips a backhand long!
*Kessler 6-3 3-6 1-1 Boulter
Oh here we go. Now Boulter gets some break points. A fab backhand cross-court winner takes her to 0-30, and then, after another Kessler error, she moves on the cusp at 15-40.
