That is saved again as Harris pushes his backhand into the net at the end of a lengthy rally from the baseline.

Otto Virtanen risks a big second serve and it doesn't pay off, instead resulting in a double fault for 15-30.

Billy Harris then returns right onto the Finn's toes and he can only find the net. Break point for the Brit.

Harris is landing his serve way too often for Virtanen's liking at the moment. More of the same, he certainly doesn't look like a man consumed by nerves and affected by the weight of the occasion.

Virtanen nips off court at the end of the first set, presumably for a tactical debrief as much as anything else.

Wonderfully that allows the Manchester Arena DJ to let almost the full version of Hey Jude play out.

McCartney's na-na-na-naaa refrain is belted out with extra enthusiasm after Harris's fab first-set performance.

Otto Virtanen puts that first set behind him with a confident start to this second set.

He seals the hold to 15 with a very nonchalant drop shot.

A super set of tennis, that, whatever way you look at it, really was. The serve obviously was in many ways the platform for Harris' success, and you do wonder if Virtanen will look to try and adjust his position or just try and find a way to make a few more returns into play because Harris got a lot of free points off that delivery over the course of that opening 40 minutes or so. Virtanen, we know, can be a bit erratic at times. His level will go up and down and it did.

Sealed with an ace, what a start to his Davis Cup adventure. Billy Harris, a picture of cool and calm, got the break, crucially fended off two break back points with four on the bounce, he's taken it 6-4.

A reminder that a win here for Harris would seal victory for Great Britain in their opening Davis Cup tie.

Billy Harris is serving for the opening set after just 38 minutes and races out to 40-15 to give himself two set points.

A double fault from Otto Virtanen takes us to 30-30 and perhaps gives Billy Harris a glimmer of an opening.

But an ace on the Finn's next serve gives him game point and he wraps it all up with a low driven forehand.

Harris will have to serve it out to take the opening set.

Impressive. That [Harris] first serve isn't coming back in this set, now 11 from 12 and in contrast, Harris has been able to handle the Virtanen serve pretty effectively. The Finn is only landing it a shade under 60% of the time but only winning just over 50% of those points when he does.

An impressive hold to love from Billy Harris, sealed with a thunderous ace.

He is flying on his Davis Cup debut and maintains that break advantage.
