Cameron Norrie leans into being the fresher of the two on court and sends Federico Gomez chasing before slotting a forehand winner down the line.

    *Keys 6-1 1-0 Boulter

Katie Boulter needs a strong start in this second set and she opens with a glorious drop shot.

It feels a long way back from here for the Briton.

  5. Gomez holdspublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 29 May

    *Norrie 7-6 (9-7) 5-2 Gomez

All the effort Federico Gomez had to exert to force his way back into the opening set now seems to be catching up with him as he appears to be fading.

Gomez looks a little laboured when moving around the court but still retains the power to smash home winners - he does that successfully enough to hold to 30.

Norrie to serve for the set.

  11. Break points Norriepublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 29 May

    *Norrie 7-6 (9-7) 3-1 Gomez

I just spied an Ipswich Town football shirt in the crowd so there is some British support on court 13 for Cameron Norrie even if the majority seem to be backing Federico Gomez.

Gomez needs that support too as he trails 40-15 and needs to save two break points.

Women's second seed Coco Gauff has booked her place in the third round with minimal fuss, seeing off Czech world number 172 Tereza Valentova in straight sets.

The 21-year-old American, runner-up in 2022, won 6-2 6-4 in just 75 minutes on Court Suzanne Lenglen, to set up a meeting with Marie Bouzkova after the Czech player defeated Briton Sonay Kartal earlier today.

Next up on that court, it's the turn of 24-time major winner Novak Djokovic, who could be in for a lively evening against the passionately-backed Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

  16. Gomez holdspublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 29 May

    *Norrie 7-6 (9-7) 2-1 Gomez

Federico Gomez is covered in the red dirt. The back of his legs need a good wipe down but he has no time as he looks to try and claim foothold in this second set.

The majority of those watching in the stands on court 13 seem to be backing Gomez as he pulls 40-15 clear.

Gomez gets on the board in the second set with a hold to 30.

  17. Deucepublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 29 May

Katie Boulter has lost her way a bit here as some wayward shots offer up three break points for Madison Keys.

    Boulter fought back well there.
