    Here we go then...

The British pair in dark blue and white with flashes of red, the Slovakia duo in predominantly white.

Heather Watson serves first and the first point is won by Slovakia, for whom Tereza Mihalikova produces a superb lob that lands in the very back corner of the court.

This is Heather Watson's 47th match for Great Britain in this women's team competition since her debut in 2011.

She has a 31-15 win-loss record and has won eight of her 11 doubles contests.

All of Olivia Nicholls' four previous matches have been in doubles, with three of them victories.

  3. Italy await winners in BJK Cup finalpublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2024

The winners of today's semi-final will face Italy, last year's runner-up, in the final on Wednesday (16:00 GMT) after their win over Poland in the last four.

After Italy's Lucia Bronzetti had defeated Magda Linette in straight sets, world number two Iga Swiatek drew Poland back level with a straight-set win over French Open and Wimbledon finalist Jasmine Paolini.

But Paolini and Sara Errani, who won Olympic doubles gold together in Paris earlier this year, got the better of Swiatek and Katarzyna Kawa to book their spot in the final.

Slovakia have hung so tough, they said they had nothing to lose and that's exactly how they're playing - and they've managed to draw it back to such an exciting doubles match now.

As mentioned earlier, Great Britain hadn't lost a set - let alone a match - on their way to the semi-finals.

Britain's hopes of a first final in this event since 1981 lie with Heather Watson and Olivia Nicholls.

Anon: Maybe Boulter losing will benefit GB if they make the final. The doubles team haven't played all week and will almost certainly be needed if GB are to beat Italy.

    More from Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova:

"We are enjoying every match. We have nothing to lose, we are just trying to do our best. I don't think the girls have pressure, I don't have pressure either because we are underdogs."

Slovakia's Rebecca Sramkova, speaking on court after beating Great Britain's Katie Boulter:

"It didn't start in the best way for me, she was serving and returning amazing in the first set. It was tough for me to play how I wanted. I was trying to push her more but it was impossible in the first set. I'm happy I was pushing more in the second and third set and we got a point."

Absolute joy for Team Slovakia. What a performance from Sramkova, she found her way back into the match and what a way to finish. It's never easy to lead the team but she's been brilliant at it.

Disappointment for Katie Boulter, she had this match, she was so confident and dictating the match, and it kind of slipped away from her hands.

Sramkova had to go the long way around past Boulter losing the opening set, but she found a way back and this semi-final is right back in the mix.

We go to a decider in the doubles!

You have to be impressed with both players, the game they produced under such big pressure in this match is just incredible.

They're living the moment now, not thinking about the final and just thinking about this match.
